can't fault it
Very friendly, welcoming and personable staff. The quality of the food in the restaurant was of the highest order. Thank you.
Room was nicely done Good bathroom Excellent pub food Excellent breakfast
Bed was too soft
Very clean and excellent breakfast. Friendly efficient staff.
The bed was rather soft. The shower flooded the bathroom floor.
Perfect location in a village with ease of parking in the courtyard. Pub had good atmosphere with a nice selection of drinks.Friendly staff. Room was small, however, it is cosy, clean and quiet. Brilliant breakfast on the 1st day, nice selection with good service. Robbie: Weber Chef UK.
We both had a meal in the restaurant. Partners meal was ok! Disappointed with my small battered fish & chips.(Looked like a childs meal.) (£11.50) arrived greasy & deflated! with small portions. Not good value for money. Advised the waitress & she replied. Enjoy your meal. No apology ,or offer of a another choice of meal. And there's more! No! reduction on bill charge at all for food. Thankfully I did not order a steak meal,(extra cost) maybe that would also be my tough luck too! Shame!
Michelin star food, friendly staff, and well worth the cost
Little noisy in the bedrooms especially if your next door to someone who leaves for an early flight
Parking right outside room. Comfy bed, good spacious room. Evening meal in pub and breakfast delicious.
Pillows lumpy. A bit noisy from people sitting outside pub.
Nice cosy pub with lovely staff and great food, good menu and good wine selection. Not too far from motorway. Plenty of parking.
Had a disabled room which I wouldn't have chosen. very lumpy pillows. Had another tables meals added to my bill! Didn't take AMEX.
It was all good
No bad bits
The staff were very friendly. Everything about the place is great and will definitely stay there again.
Extremely disappointing to find that the cooked breakfast was only available until 09:00 hours and we had entered the restaurant 8 minutes too late! We obviously did not know that the cook finishes at 9am Mon-Fri. There was no mention of this time restriction for hot breakfast in the online description or on the Royal Oak website. We were told by the receptionist that we should have read the information book in the room. I did try to explain that we had driven 4 hours from London on the previous night and arrived around 20:30, tired and hungry, so the last thing on our minds would have been to study that booklet. No staff mentioned about breakfast times to us on arrival. There was obviously no flexibility to help our situation and the only option was the cold "buffet" breakfast which consisted of plain croissants, bread, small selection of fruits and Kellogg's mixed variety cereals. A poor substitute for the breakfast that I had expected as we had a busy Open Day ahead and a long drive back to London.
Staff very friendly and responsive, which feels welcoming and customer centred. Food in restaurant very good. Rooms and bathrooms modern and chic. Able to park right outside rooms.
Outside doors going to rooms can be noisy closing.
A lovely clean, modern room, with a great shower; also free water, and coffee making facilities int he room. Excellent restaurant.
Great food in the restaurant, we ate there on both nights of our stay. Great location for access to donnington park.
Apart from the rain! Nothing to dislike
The food at the Royal Oak was exceptional. My husband is a coeliac and there was a gluten free menu that had a very extensive choice. We ate in the restaurant both nights and would highly recommend it. The poached eggs for breakfast were just perfect. Service was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
The walls were a bit thin, but the bed was so comfortable that once we were in it we slept like logs!
Excuse location.Very pretty village.Handy for Donnington Park
Allocated time for dining. Table had to be vacated at a certain time and staff kept reminding us of this which wasn't very relaxing
It was a very comfortable inn to stop at on our way to the airport.
Room size, bathroom size and room facilities were all excellent. Lot's of parking available directly outside the room. Breakfast menu was varied, staff were very attentive. Lovely cosy restaurant area.
I could hear the noise from other people having a shower during the morning. Check in area is the same area is at the bar area therefore the staff were busy and it took a while for them to process our booking and give us our room key.
Food is excellent.
Food was excellent. Lovely and peaceful location.
Wi if was rather haphazard. Bedroom decor could be improved . Bathroom a lot more modern than rest of room.
The privacy of the rooms due to their situation and the mix of modern with old in the pub. The breakfast was amazing and we would eat in the restaurant next time.
Lovely staff Excellent breakfast Nicely decorated
Thin walls between the rooms.
Rather noisy adjacent rooms you can hear everything
I particularly liked the quality of the service provided.
I wasn't comfortable with the level of noise from the adjoining room. It did intrude.
Quiet village location Comfortable, stylish rooms Quality of beds Attentive staff Restaurant very good food
Breakfast ok Outside doors are noisy when neighbours coming into their rooms
