Very good location
No breakfast option
Location very good
Early check in dead line
It is right in the historic high street - it is grotty but not expensive
Peeling wallpaper, missing light bulbs, filthy plug hole clogged with hair.- but I actually slept OK
Can't think of anything we liked about this Hotel. When we checked into our room we found our bathroom light didn't work making the bathroom unusable. When we reported this to reception we were amazed to be told that no spare lightbulbs were available so we had to change rooms,
Wallpaper pealing off the walls. Bathroom not clean. We went to bed at 12-30am but couldn't get to sleep as loud music playing in the bar until 1-30am and we were on the 2nd floor.
Right on the high street so close to places to get breakfast. Flashes of grandeur under the aging paint and carpet. Great value for money.
Don't like wifi that insists on having a mobile number given for marketing purposes. Parking a bit tricky.
The building itself.
It was a quiet place
Staff were friendly
Hotel very out if date and definitely not worth £45
Only stay if you don't need early sleep, and prepared for outdated rooms, bad smells and Mildew showers.
Next to night life.
The location is good with limited free secure parking, the hotel is tired but undergoing refurbishment but the room and bathroom were very clean and tidy and comfortable.
The room was very cold due to heating not working and the bar was closed which was disappointing.
Very warm duvet.
We stayed one night. The staff were welcoming, polite and helpful. The room was clean and we had everything we needed.
It just needed hoovering under the beds. Otherwise all was fine
Bed was comfy and room was warm. The lady on reception was welcoming.
The structure of the building seemed to slope; on the stairs and in the rooms. I know it is a very old building but it seems to be rather a serious amount of slopes, especially the main stairs. Despite the information saying the hotel is being refurbished there wasn't much evidence of this happening currently.
The one member of staff we met was friendly, we came to visit tourist attractions and have a nice evening out which we did.
I had read the reviews beforehand so I was prepared for an iffy experience. The room was old fashioned, lots of things broken, no shower gel, tv had black lines passing across the front of the screen. But at half the price of other hotels in the area...you pay your money you take your choice! Probably wouldn't rush to stay here again but for a weekend away in a nice area on a tight budget this was just the ticket.
Hotel is very dilapidated - needs a lot of money spent on it. Refurbishment has started but it is going to be a long project.
At £45 a room it really wasn't that bad, just dated. Staff were very friendly.
We pushed the twin beds together and the floor where the bed had been was quite dirty.
Its price, it was clean white bedding and towels
It could do with some upgrading decorating wise ,but the price reflected this. Definitely filled the spot for us.
The only good thing about this hotel was the location.
It was genuinely the most disgusting and unclean hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. Please, DO NOT even consider staying here, not even for the price.
Very shabby room, wallpaper peeling off the wall and large damp patches on the ceiling, plus large hole in the wall. shower above the bath not very powerful and the grouting around the bath vey very dirty and mouldy. No T.V not working No breakfast available, very poor for the price. Would not stay there again.
THE ROOM WAS NICE AND CLEAN AND LIKED THE LOCATION
NO LIFTS CLEANER KEPT OPENNG THE WINDOW AND WE WERE ON THE THIRD FLOOR. WINDOWS ARE VERY UNSAFE
Loved location, loved price
Although room was clean - window sill was covered in 2cm of dirt. Nobody cleaned it for at least a year. Many broken things in room which should be removed as don't serve purpose - radio/clock, hook bases, lamp above sink. Lack of basic understand in of travelers needs - when entering the room, there is no place to hang your coats (would do couple of hooks next to doors). There is nice big wardrobe in a room, but table with tv is placed so you can not open doors :):).
Large room and comfortable bed
Peeling wallpaper, warren of stairs, in urgent need of repairs and renovation
Would like a breakfast option please
In need of redecoration and modernisation and general refurbishment
