It was a Saturday night so a bit of bass could be heard until 2am, but even though I brought ear plugs, I did not need to use them. No noise in morning either, so a good night's sleep was had.
The big wet patch near the bathroom was a most unwelcome surprise once I took my shoes off! Gave us a chance to test the radiators (to dry socks) and pleased to say they reached temperature very swiftly. The wet patch was still there in the morning, so it can't have just been some spilt water. I suspect it is a leaking pipe or similar in the floor being soaked up by the carpet.
Bathroom was okay, flush fairly rubbish like you find in many old British hotels, and shower was fixed head so I found it very annoying to get a good heat mix without running the gauntlet of passing my hand through ice cold or burning hot flow.
Excellent location, basically on high street with cafes, restaurants, shops, bars etc all close. Glad I phoned for directions prior to arriving as otherwise I would have struggled to find the car park. GPS was giving very wrong directions! Go to Dartford, then when you see signs for The Priory, follow them in the direction of the multi-storey, until you see a sign for hotel parking and then you are there.
We arrived late so check in was at the bar, which was quick and friendly. As we were staying we got a discount on drinks in the bar which was great. We went down for dinner at about 9pm, but they had stopped serving food, so we went to the nearby Wetherspoons. Like the Wetherspoons, this hotel is a good building with some character. We returned later for a drink and then to bed after a bit of TV (which had good reception).
Room was clean and good size, with nice white bed linen and towels, Bed comfy and pillows better than mine at home!
Check out staff pleasant and helpful. Car parking free and room price comparable with a cheap Travelodge. Not a smart, modern hotel, but certainly recommended.
