Goed budget hotel,maar op zaterdag avond trad een dj op tot 02.00 uur. Niet bepaald rustgevend.

The bed had a spring sticking out and holes in the wall where the headboard should be. Decor abit dated.

Excellent value for money. Room was large and clean ,staff were friendly and although there was a nightclub downstairs you could not hear any noise from it in your room.

Nothing really , wished I could have stayed another night.

the room was freezing so we turned the small heater on in the bedroom and 8 hours later when we returned from the theatre it was still very cold in there. There was no heating in the bathroom and when we returned you could see your breath. The beds had a bar across the middle and the matress was not deep enough to prevent this digging in to your hip. The pub was closed at 10pm when we returned so we could not ask if there was an alternative room.

Ease of access from M25 - close to station and great parking. Quiet and comfortable beds. Friendly staff.

In dire need of refurbishment. Very much a white van man base. A basic place to stay.

We are a mature couple and having being put on the top floor with no lift found it very hard on the old knees. The bed left a lot to be desired in comfort. Could do with a bit of tlc. We found it very hard to find the car park not knowing Dartford very well.

Hotel room was extremely shabby . Paint chipped off skirting boards and walls also doors. Could feel springs in mattress ,one bed side light not working , when asked for bulb was told not until 9 pm,asked later but to no avail .bath room black with mould ,toilet roll holder broke . Holes in wall not been filled in both bathroom & bedroom .To sum up room was absolutely disgusting

The second time we have stayed at the Royal Victoria and Bull. Always a warm welcome. Great staff! Great to have a dance downstairs at our age!!!

The staff at the Hotel were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is to all intents and purposes an old Public House with rooms for hire. As such it has a lot of character but is basic in terms of room facilities and comfort. It was absolutely fine for my purpose and perfectly satisfactory as a budget accommodation. In terms of location it is excellent for amenities around the local area,transport links into London, and close vicintiy to Bluewater.

Town centre posistion

Hard to find, car park at the top of a multistorey car park. In dire need of refurbishment, capets dirty ,paint flaking off our bedroom walls, mould on the blind in the bathroom, window sill rotten, the room smelt of dog, it was dire, would not reccomend this hotel to anyone, i informed the staff of my comments and they seemed surprised.

We chose this hotel because we wanted to stay in Dartford Town Centre and we have stayed at this hotel before but it was more than 20 years ago. I will say that they hadn’t changed much since then!! On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by "Maggie", the hotel receptionist, in a very friendly and helpful manner. "Well done Maggie you’re a credit to the hotel"! The reception area was not great. It’s indeed a bit tatty and dimly lit and reception was more like a cupboard under the stairs, but it was functional enough I guess!! Having read more bad reviews than good before we left that Friday morning, we were prepared for the worst, but it wasn't actually the case. The corridors to the rooms where dimly lit and decor was dingy, doors were in need of lick of paint and the carpets badly stained! We were given room 304 which was a very small room with 3ft twin beds. There wasn’t much room in it but it was “cosy” and included a desk, two chairs, a double wardrobe and a long wall mirror. I suppose we could have asked to be changed but then we started to think where the room was located, as we have stayed here before we know that from some of the rooms you can hear both the late night disco or the band. We knew this room was located away from that area being near the back of the hotel (the newer part) with a view of the car park!! So we stayed put and quite rightly so!! We could not hear a single thing from the disco/live music from the pub part of the building and nor did we hear anything from the Saturday market in the high street!! All bedding was white, crisp and freshly laundered, comfy pillows and the mattress was springy too. Yes the carpet had a few stains but not many. Probably a careless guest that has stayed before us no doubt!! There is no getting away from the fact that both the decor and the furniture is old and dingy, the room was decorated in dark colours with very dim lighting but staying positive, the room was functional enough!!

The hotel’s downfall for us, is that there is no separate area or a bar for guests, so it’s a pub atmosphere and it is open to the general public which, especially on entertainment nights, can get very crowded and noisy like any other Town centre pub!! Later in the evening at weekends it turns into a nightclub and that’s where a separate guest bar or area might come in handy. Other than that, at the back of the hotel there is a smoking/seating area off the car park. However we were told by the bouncer/attendant that we could not take our drinks out there even though it was early evening about 8.30ish. After a few exchanges of opinions, we did ignore his requests and go outside anyway and he promptly locked the door behind us, but of course we had a key so no big deal (but then again, he didn’t check with us, so it could have been an issue)!! The next evening we tried to go outside to this area again but despite the fact we actually had plastic glasses that we brought ourselves he then told us no drinks allowed outside at these tables!! Another exchange of opinions (nothing rude or abusive), but it would have been better to have the reception deal with these matters, however reception was closed. For us, that are now well into our fifties, we would make the following suggestion - that it would have been nice if this hotel considered that guests may not want to go around a town centre late evening and indeed might not want to listen to live music or a disco, just to provide a place to sit with a drink in the peace and quiet should really be considered. The pub customers were allowed to smoke outside the front of the hotel, so really there was no reason for them to have access to what is essentially the hotel entrance area which would be better kept clear for hotel guests. This hotel has around 25 rooms and with some tender loving care this could be a really nice town centre hotel!! Would we stay here again “Yes I think we would”?

You couldn't get more central, the location is excellent. And having an entertaining late night bar downstairs was a real plus :)

The ensuite bathroom needed refurbishment. But for the money I wasn't going to complain. The room was clean and tidy.

We liked the fact the duvet and pillows were down filled,very comfortable.We also liked the fact it was very close to the shops and the market which was on when we stayed.

Bit noisy but to be expected.

Free onsite parking (which is a major consideration these days).

Like so many British hotels it looked like it had seen better days and could do with a major refurbishment.

The breakfast was the best part of my stay but I was unaware that I had to ask the chef for my breakfast!

The manager thought she was queen Victoria and I'm not sure liked paying guests!
