Score from 289 reviews Very good
The relaxed atmosphere and the character of the building and decor
nothing to dislike in my opinion
The rooms were very spacious, very clean, everything you need was to hand. E.g hair drier, clothes press, phone.
The breakfast could have been served until a little later. Also the leaving time could have been later as I felt 10.30 was a little early, once up packed and had breakfast it was an early wake up.
Staff very friendly, rooms clean and spacious, breakfast first class. Location excellent.
Drink prices were excessively high. Restaurant windows could do with a clean!!
most of it
The location, bedroom, bar facilities. The staff,
Not told that the other residents were of an old age, hense no live entertainment in the evening. lack of vegitarian food for my wife, in fact boxing day meal was refunded, no vegitarian choice. rather disappointed with our choice, suggest in future you give more information, re customer types.
welcoming gesture of the recetionist & the excellent service of the barman...
the weather ruin the nice view outside my window..
very close to the shops and on the seafront as well Food good Staff very helpful
having to leave
Great location. Staff helpful and friendly. Lovely room overlooking sea view. Recommend hotel
Excellent position right on the sea front close to pier and shops. Comfortable room and good variety of food for breakfast.
Old fashioned fixed shower.
Lovely place, couldnt fault anything.
Quiet, comfortable with attentive and helpful staff. Well situated within easy walking distance of most local attractions. We would not hesitate to go back there.
The bedroom was comfortable, but beginning to look a little tired. The metal bedhead looked good, but was not comfortable for sitting in bed reading.
The location and general surroundings were very good. The staff were helpful, but could have been more proactive, also few, but it was out of season. Bar food - excellent choice and good value.
The Mattress had seen better days & was not comfortable. We did not find a sizeable lounge.
The room was comfortable and clean the en suite bathroom was spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was a bit too expensive for us.
good location, close to amenities. Some not all staff attentive.
Hotel 'tired looking' Needs updating
i asked for a sea view upon booking as it was my birthday and the4y did it. Also lazy sunday is a brilliant idea and the carvery is amazing - i will be staying again.
I booked this hotel on the off chance, 16 members of my family booked in, using 6 rooms, for my wife's 60th Birthday. The ages of our party ranged from 15months to 90 yrs. old. The staff did not know our reason for staying, we booked tables for the evening meal and the tables were laid out in a large square, we gave them balloons and a banner which were put in place for when we dined. I could not have asked for a better venue if I had booked it specifically for a birthday party. In the evening my daughter asked if she could get warm milk for her toddler the following morning, she was told to just go down to the kitchen when she was ready for it and that they would oblige, she did this the following morning and the warm milk was provided with a smile and no hassle whatsoever. All of the staff were polite and friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was brilliant, externally the gardens were well tended. The Royal Hotel is now our chosen hotel in the Somerset area, and fantastic value for money, we will definitely be staying at the Royal again soon. I am staying over on business in Wigan next week at a Premier lodge, bed and breakfast for a single room is exactly the same cost as The Royal, I know which one I would choose if I had the choice, The Royal Hotel, Weston Super Mare.
Only being booked in for the weekend.
Loved the old world charm of the hotel better than the antiseptic feel of some "modern hotels".
Nothing at all
The week was to be away and relax and that's what we did it was great. Thank you
Everything - location, staff, comfortable rooms. 'Nuff said.
Parking facilities very good. Polite staff and good breakfast Nicely positioned with good access.
I could get a choice of Pineapple and Tomato Juice for Breakfast instead of just Orange which I dont like.loved the rooms with comfy beds and big bathrooms too I had a seaview and loved it.a very nice hotel and I would love to stay there again the hotel had a lovely Ambience and felt quite posh looking.
The location and ambience.
Cheap and inefficient toilet paper.
Good location, breakfast very good.
Bed wasn't very comfortable and my adult sons had to sleep in bunk beds which were quite unstable. A joiner had to come and tighten the screws up. Every time they turned over in bed, we were woken up by the creaking of the wood so none of us got a good nights sleep!
