we had emailed in advance early arrival, young girl on reception we found to be very rude, told us we could not get in to room till four, she needs to go on a customer care course. when we returned three hours later was told only booked for one night, when we had pre paid for three nights.
breakfast was good , staff friendly, view was very good .
hotel was a bit dated
We had a lovely time at this beautiful hotel. The staff were so friendly.. prices to stay were excellent! Drinks were priced fairly! ! Can't wait for our next visit!!! Thank you :)
the purpose of our weekend was to walk the coastal path so the location was excellent and value for money a high priority. The locals told us te breakfast is good but only found that out after we'd eaten out!
The room décor was very dated and if you are looking for modern amenities you may be disappointed but it served its purpose for us and was clean and quiet.
decor, noise from karaokee till far too late, food, constant leaking taps,
Good price, nice location. good breakfast buffet, but missing sausages.
Tired hotel. Supper was OK, but the brussels were awful, and the parsnips were inedible as they were woody, but we had ample edible food.
People stay in budget hotels and expect 5* treatment never going to happen This hotel is fine , wonderful location, friendly staff, comfortable room what more do you want
The place was clean and warm food was good for the price £6 breakfast full buffet eat as much as u like £12 evening 3 course meal all in all for the money £76 for 2 people plus food on top was excellent
Nothing was a good stay
indifferent staff that charged me more than it was said on booking website. I asked for a balcony room, but my needs never were fulfilled. All evening there was annoying noise from hotel bar too loud and not letting to rest. Finally, when it was about midnight the pop concert was over so i hoped for a good sleep, however, to early ! As the loudest snore from neighboring room could be heard. Paper thing walls allowed to hear any step outside the room. It made me to toss and turn and every move was accompanied with creaking springs. In the morning a cleaner entered the room without even knocking or double checking on reception whether or not guest had check out. She never said sorry, just closed the door and walked away. It's the most horrible experience ever and they even didn't ask me about it. Nobody even said goodbye. Never coming back here.
I liked the staff and atmosphere of the place, felt very a lot like 'fawlty castle' feel which was a novelty.amazing restaurant view with a good breakfast gives you a great start to the day.
Radiator wouldn't switch on, so it was a bit nippy but still acceptable at night
The bed were awful as all the springs were poking out, we both had really bad back ache. The rooms were very dated and not very clean at all. The staff didn't speak to us at all or even acknowledge we were there, very rude.
The breakfast was excellent
The balcony room was spot on fot the money paid.
External decor needs a revamp hugely. Looking a bit shabby.
Heated indoor swimming pool all to ourselves which after walking 3 days on the coastal paths was great. Hot bath or shower for sore muscles.A hotel from a bygone era.Apparently an outdoor pool as well but didnt try it!Friendly staff.
The hotel is extremely good value so difficult to criticise at these competitive rates.
Great Location Great Views Table Tennis Large Rooms
Nothing of note
Overall the experience at this hotel was great with friendly/smiley staff through out our stay, the evening 3 course meal was brilliant value with the staff being attentive friendly and approachable. Their was evening entertainment which made the time between our meal and bedtime enjoyable, checkout was quick and easy and definitely a return visit on the cards.
Creaky floorboards and bed, a shower upgrade to a thermostatic version would be a great help.
This is the best hotel I have found so far in terms of value for money: we only paid £65 per night for a family room (low season). The family rooms are very large, perfectly laid out for a family of 5 with small children and have space for a cot if needed. The children absolutely loved it: the breakfast buffet had everything they could wish for and the hotel has a swimming pool! The staff were very friendly.
You get what you pay for: very dated rooms with old decorations and furniture. If the décor is important to you, this is not a hotel for you.
The price :) Pleasant staff Nice Christmas decorations Nice public areas Nice pool Nice breakfast, didn't try evening meal. Excellent entertainment
Very outdated room but clean.
The hotel was in the right place at the right time
The bed was terrible and very uncomfortable and the area where we were was very noisy
Hotel is good and very clean and the staff very friendly.
Hotel needs to invest in new mattresses. Bad night sleep on hard bed. Room dated in decor and bathroom needs a refurb.
Room with a view Inexpensive Friendly staff Clean
Wifi only in the lounge
The whole place. Very dated and not very clean. Bedding in my workmates room was stained and very dirty. Shower didn't work
great break for our anniversary - have always loved Woolacombe. Hotel was comfortable and the service was excellent and friendly. Although the menu was a bit limited, the quality of the cuisine could not be faulted.
The lack of a proper light over the pool table resulted in my losing several times to my wife!
when you first look at the royal you think oh god but actually it was spotlessly clean and the staff where wonderful! its a nice walk down to the town and beach! highly recommend and cant wait to stay there again!!
