Brilliant breakfast and a very comfortable bed.
The hotel needs updating and the pool changing rooms are in a bad state.
The staff were extremely helpful The breakfast and dinner were excellent value for money The location was perfect and the views magnificent We had a brilliant time
Decor is a bit dated but not unclean The sound insulation when rooms were above was poor which could affect sleep
The bed was comfortable.
The interior hasn't been renovated so you still have 60's feel to it. The hotel smells of smoke even though you cannot smoke inside the smell must be from years ago when you could. The shower/bath didn't work properly as it wouldn't let pull up fully to have a shower so water was running from the bath tap as well so it was very low pressure and it kept going from scolding hot to cold. No hairdryer which I wasn't informed about so had to go out with wet hair.
Balcony door would not shut/lock bed too soft carpets shabby
The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was nice. There is a wood panelled lounge that was lovely to sit and have a drink in. The views were great. Great value for money.
The mattresses need to be renewed. The hotel is noisy at night due to creaking floor boards and thin walls. Would pay more if these standards were raised.
great base, easy access to saunton sands croyde & Barnstaple for beaches/shopping. our 2nd break there this year. great value for money. grt breakfast.plenty of parking. amazing views. easy walking local restaurants, dinner available in hotel, or 5 mins in car for local carverys.wifi.i liked the 70s feel.our room/hotel was v clean plenty tea/coffee tvclean towels etc.great value will stay again next year
keep an open mind that ongoing decorating & upgrade is ongoing through winter, but price saving reflects this.
the windows don't close properly, so it feels like the cars pass right through your room; you hear every movement of the people in the room above you; at exactly 10am they came knocking saying that we had to leave the room; everything is old and worn down.
Age of decor
Bathroom 203, like school P.E changing room. Rules book in room made me laugh felt like it must have been written by the neighborhood security watch pensioners
It's basic accommodation but the staff are friendly, it's clean and comfortable and good value for money
We were down for a special celebration and there was over 50 of use at woolacombe sands holiday park and just had a fab time
Friendliness of staff always helpful
The room was very tired Bathroom very poor, bath slip mat very dirty, eventually changed after several requests shower broken& poor water flow
Pleased with everything, our room the food. We were only there for bed and breakfast, because we were meeting up with family during the day, We appreciated the car park and entrance for disabled when our daughter picked us up and brought us back.
Both my son & l enjoyed our stay at the hotel, food was good the breakfast set us up the day. The staff were very helpful at all times.
friendly staff efficient service location clean
décor a little tired ...
The location and the food
Beds were terrible - 2nd year we have stayed and this year room 105 beds very poor. Came home with a backache - the mattress on the double bed had a massive hole/gap on one side and the single bed was sloping down one side. unless they upgrade the rooms a bit and beds I won't go again.
Continue with refurbishment but to retain its friendly style
Good location and potential facilities
Aimed mainly at retired folk and against young kids who were obviously not catered for...
Clean rooms and facilities. Good evening entertainment. Water in pool clean and lovely temperature. Good position. Fab views from Restaurant
Rooms old and dated very uncomfortable bed. Area around the pool and showers clean but grubby!
Nothing and leaving
Swimming pool was good although the showers in the ladies changing room were better than in the room
Hotel was very dated and I do feel that small repairs and a lick of paint would make a big difference. Staff were not very cheerful...it seemed like a hassle for them...Balcony to the room did not feel safe !
Good location and easy access.
Poor quality products served at breakfast: Insipid, cold coffee. Deep fried!, poor quality sausages. Tinned tomatoes! Is fresh produce not available in North Devon?
The hotel was amazing, staff very friendly, good entertainment, nice pool, comfy bed's we only stayed there for 1 night but would definitely go back, nice beach just down the road and nice cafe to called the captains table
Beautiful sceneries and walk able distance to beach. Excellent place for short break.
