Good location, clean. The hotel itself is great, its a shame its let down by the bar staff. We were kept waiting at the bar while the barman went to get the ingrediants for the cocktail we ordered. When he returned he ignored us completely, we were standing at the bar and repeatedly tried to get his attention. He ignored us completely, even when he walked past us, made eye contact with my friend who then said "excuse me" to ask for the drinks we had ordered. He ignored her completely and walked away. We left and went to another bar.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The food in the restaurant was very nice and the service was excellent. The Hotel was in a perfect position to explore the town and Scotland. Parking was limited to about six cars so if the Hotel was busy you would have to park in one of the town car parks a short walk from the Hotel were you would have to pay a daily rate.

This is the closest to Faulty Towers that I have stayed in. They have no idea about customer service - can't serve breakfast at a reasonable hour for people to go to work. Offered to provide a packed lunch for breakfast. There was a fire alarm at 8pm and nobody from the staff knew what to do. Thank goodness it was a false alarm.

Friendly, welcoming and very helpful staff. Comfortable bed, nice clean linen and towels. Great shower. The breakfasts during our stay were adequate but poor in comparison to previous stays and disappointed there weren't more staff to deal with a hotel that was very busy.

The staff were very pleasant and the receptionist were especially nice. The easiness of getting to the golf courses pleased us. The parking for cars was not good at times. We felt that a little shelf in the shower would have made a difference when having a shower. Otherwise the breakfasts were excellent and although we only ate in one night the food was well cooked and of a high standard.

bed was very comfortable. Breakfast very good. There is a bar inside the hotel that seemed crowd and enjoyable but we had no time to try. one of the towel was previously used by another guest. I was there for one night and I did not complaint, However staff should be more careful when cleaning.

The staff were very helpfull, the food was good, the main part of the building was clean and well presented. Our bedroom was in the annex straight above the function room where there was a disco bumping away at 12.30am on Sunday morning then there was the noise of the guests leaving, seems we only got a couple of hours sleep until the quests above started moving around the squeaky floorboards, it was the room from hell. I would suggest the Manager house the party goers at the rear of the Hotel that way they would not disturb the other quests. The staff were very understanding and moved us to the main building on the second nights stay, if not for them our weekend would have been ruined. If you are considering staying here make sure your in the main part of the Hotel

The staff were brilliant and would do anything to help, all with a smile. Even when we came down slightly early for breakfast, they were willing to take our order. When asked for an iron, they went out of their way to find a replacement for the broken one they had. There was a slight musty smell which seemed to come from the mattress. But it was very easy to ignore, even when in the room for lengthy periods.

Helpful and willing staff. Good cooked breakfast. The "Standard Room" was small and tired. The mattress should have been replaced last year and the bathroom was so small that I had to get into the bedroom to towell myself dry. Lack of sleep drove me to pay for an "upgrade" to what they called "superior" but would be better recognised as comfortable 3star with a pleasant new shower and toilet. Very poor value compared to hotels in Dundee and Perth.

That the value for money was extremely good having decided to have dinner on the premises found the menu was expansive and the standard of food and service was excellent. The room was adequate and clean as befits a one night stay. That the budget priced room was just that with woodchip cream wallpaper but never the less comfortable and quiet during the night.

“A very nice cosy hotel with friendly staff, good food and reasonably priced. It was a lovely warm comortable place to be after being outside in the cold weather, with comfortable armchairs to sit in front of the fire in. I have stayed there quite a few times and have had the same friendly and polite service every time.” David, Northallerton |
