The staff on reception were really helpful. The room was large and comfy, the bathroom was a little tight but nice powerful shower. We appreciated the extra bed for our toddler. The view to the garden was beautiful and we could see the ponies in the field! Dinner was delicious, breakfast was good. The swimming pool was a lovely bonus. Super clean and quiet, we loved it!

Lyndhurst is a great place to stay for exploring the New Forest. It has a good mix of interesting shops and restaurants and a good sized car-park in the centre.
That said, it can get very busy and there can be traffic queues in high-season since it is a bit of a bottleneck. So I'd recommend visiting slightly off-season.

What let it down for us was the lack of options for gluten free breakfast no cereals no fruit no yogurts then when we did get breakfast it was cold toast rock hard it wasn’t even busy only us two for breakfast
We wanted to order gluten free fish and chips but fryer broken so was limited on evening options but what we did order was tasty I must say I was impressed by the staff knowledge on g/f intolerance and allergies.

Lyndhurst has some interesting shops particularly the antiques emporium and some nice pubs and restaurants and the Anglican church of St Michael's where the original Alice who was the model for ''Alice in Wonderland''was buried.
I went to the Passage to India Indian restaurant which is quite near to the Penny Farthing hotel.
There is a Ferrari showroom if you want to check them out but the cars are very expensive.

It is a lovely village, full of character.
It is a lovely village, full of character. It was the fourth, or fifth, time we have stayed in, or around, Lyndhurst. There are great shops, cafe's, restaurants and pubs. It is small enough to comfortably walk around. We ate in "The Forage, which is a modern Italian style restaurant with a very good menu selection. The only issue is that Lyndhurst is a focal point for all the roads into and out of the NewForest, which often leads to long traffic queues into and out of the village. However, the main road through is one way, which makes it easier for pedestrians to cross.
The staff were all great, public rooms are lovely, gives a real sense of history and lots of cosy areas to sit in. The location is beautiful and I'd like to return in the summer when the garden is in flower. Due to one of our grandsons testing covid positive they could not join us, the hotel have generously offered us a voucher to use in the next 12 months to cover the cost of the non refundable family room. We're look forward to visiting Bartley Lodge again. Enjoyed being met on arrival by a New Forest pony at our car window.
The breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Staff were attentive and there was a good selection of fruit, cereals and yogurt as well as the cooked breakfast.
A sausage for the dog was ready and waiting for him when we went in for breakfast.
Room was spacious and light.
The hotel was quiet and plenty of parking as we went out of season.
Couldn't really fault anything. Great value for money.
Well situated in the lovely town of Lyndhurst.
Will definitely be returning.
Would recommend to others.
Breakfast was brilliant! Lovely and tasty. Hotel was in a great location, easy to get places and walk into beautiful Lyndhurst town. Loved the spa bath in the deluxe room, so relaxing and good to unwind. Really liked the wallpaper with the deers on, very in-keeping to the new forest. The hotel had some cute decor, eg the sunflowers and fresh flowers, also the love heart hanging on the entrance and exit of walkway path.
Tv and lounge area was a cute touch to the deluxe room. Friendly staff as well.
This was our second visit to the Crown Manor and we weren't disappointed. Our room was very comfortable and whilst not over large, was well decorated and furnished and very cosy and warm for a winter stay. Bathroom has been upgraded and was stylish. Great breakfast - plenty of choice. Good location for strolling into Lyndhurst with a good range of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Also easy parking at the hotel. Will definitely visit again.
We were well looked after and staff were very attentive. My wife is disabled although access was not the best, with the help of the staff this was not a problem. I have been coming to Lyndhurst for many years but this was the first time we had stayed at the Stag. We will be back again next year. Good value for money and a very pleasant stay. Many thanks to the Stag.!!
The hotel is comfortable and the setting is very cute. The rooms are quite large (I had the cosy double and it felt quite spacious). The beds are comfortable, and as always can't have too many pillows. Tea and coffee provided with a kettle and coffee machine, with biscuits, which I think is a nice touch. Receptionists and staff members quite lovely.
Location was fabulous, close to lovely forest walks. New forest ponies visited the hotel frontage twice while we were there, which was brilliant. Staff friendly, lounge and bar area nice. Great to have EV charger on site. Close to station so visit by rail would be possible, close to Lyndhurst by car which has plenty of places to eat/coffee shops etc
The apartment was fantastic with superb attention to detail. Parking was next to entrance, and the adjacent car park had 22v electric car charging ports - another bonus.
Seb and Kate, the hosts, went above and beyond to make sure that every detail of our break to Lyndhurst, New Forest, was absolutely spot on. Cannot recommend highly enough.
The hotel staff were very welcoming and remembered that my partner wanted to watch F1 (mentioned when we booked in ) and put it in for him on the bar TV. Room was lovely and clean and brilliant value for money. Easy to walk into Lyndhurst and a big car park and restaurant. Excellent stay
The staff are so friendly and they exceeded our expectations. The hotel and our room was very clean and provided everything we needed. The location was brilliant as it's only a few minutes walk away to the main high street. The breakfast was so tasty and offers a variety of options.
The hotel and bar is refurbished to a high standard. The hotel is in the centre of Lyndhurst and provides good access for the local area. The car park is at the rear and is free to hotel residents.
The food was fantastic and the service friendly.
Service and range at breakfast was excellent, Location was beautiful. Room had been modernised to high standard. We visited the lovely Exbury Gardens then spent the night at the hotel before a cruise leaving Southampton the next day.
We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly
The hotel is well located for access to all arear of the New Forest and the south coast
Especially convenient and a short walk into Lyndhurst
Great room, great staff, great food. We will definitely return and are planning a group visit with some friends for some golf and Spa. The hotel is exactly what we wanted and matched the descripton.
