Food and service.
The accommodation is very tired but the impending renovation will make this place a perfect stay as the important elements of food and service are spot on.
Bedroom small Bed creaked every time you move Bathroom tiny Shower door did not close Noise from other guests our room was next to the stairs Room was dirty Hot water tap in sink did not close Bar food expensive for what you received.
Staff very nice
Place is a bit run down generally, food expensive for what it is, and nightly rate ridiculous for what is a run down B&B!
cosy room friendly
too hot, no AC, not very flexible in serving anything eatable just after kitchen close
Bed was comfy. Nice biscuits. Recommended a descent restaurant. Breakfast was nice.
Window had pane missing. Shabby looking room. Towel rail wouldn't work. Stopped serving food so wasn't able to have a descent meal only sandwiches or salad. The price £110 for a second class room.
Loved the breakfast - v high quality. Loved the friendliness of the staff A good night's sleep
The shower door was falling off & the bathroom needed a little bit of tlc !!
The staff were very friendly and their was a real country atmosphere in the pub. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal
The bathroom needs some upgrading. There was a lot of mould in the shower. It wasn't very clean either. Also the drawers should be checked after each guest leaves. We found a condom wrapper in the bedside drawer
nice room in house with long history
Bathroom was dirty and in need of a total refurbishment, room had water damage and the carpets were dated to say the least. Yes it is an old pub but that does not mean the decor, furniture and facilities have to reflect this
a real English pub, frequented by locals
Food and Staff
I appreciate it is 16th century building but needs much work and new carpets
gatehouse room good, sitting room bedroom well supplied, even a fire extinguisher. bathroom modern. good decor.
a five minute walk to the gatehouse, fortunately the weather was dry and warm. the property does not have a car park, road parking only. it does not have a reception area, you wait your turn at the bar.
The Running Horses B&B is in a nice quite location, rooms are really clean and comfy, you get free water bottles in the room which I think is important as there aren't any shops around. downstairs has a lovely bar, outside seating area in summer, and real fire place in winter. Really good evening menu- quality food and the service is always excellent. Would definitely recommend it to all of my friends.
One very very small minus, the breakfast isn't the nicest. I don't normally go for full English, but I like bacon and eggs. Last Last couple of times I stayed there bacon was really hard and not the freshest looking. But not a big deal, the rest was nice.
Service and staff very good and helpful. comfortable pub and room
room in need of decoration and updating but didn't ruin stay
Truck delivery at 6:30 am
This hotel is just above the Running Horses popular pub in a beautiful area
Booking couldn't have been easier. Hotel had character and atmosphere. Good beer.
Place was nice but decor and finished just a bit tired.
Interesting Inn with lots of great features, room was very pleasant and comfortable - would stay there again
when I was served my starter I was left with no knife and fork. My main course came with no sauce and again at breakfast I has to ask for some lemon which they told me that they has missed by mistake - food was excellent but the service was really poor. Although in a quiet village location there was no onsite car park for added security when travelling on business
The 'olde worlde' style The food Staff were friendly but inexperienced
Nothing really but wouldn't be a first choice next time
Excellent food and attentive staff. Very relaxing.
The Gatehouse was a lovely place to stay overnight.
Fantastic staff and good
Rooms are a bit run down
Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Food is excellent. Nice atmosphere in the bar - typical country pub.
The rooms are definitely in need of an upgrade but bed comfortable, shower power good and nice fluffy towels.
