Good meals, great pub atmosphere

Everything! The restaurant food was wonderful and the staff vey polite and welcoming! Would certainly stay here again!

Nice warm atmosphere, with a good selection of real ale. Food very nice. For a Wednesday night the restaurant and bar were busy and the staff friendly and attentive.

Though I got a reasonable price for the accomodation £73 - I would not want to pay more than that. Whilst the food was good, it was atouch on the expensive side.

The place was completely run down. Food was poor. Had to wait for ages for anything (checking in, drinks, food).

Very pleased with the food and staff in this Pub. Nice atmosphere.

Although it states parking available, it does not mention this to be on the main road outside, or if lucky, on the narrow lane beside the pub.

The room was very comfortable. There was free, very good Wi-fi. The food was excellent & the pub rooms very pleasant and welcoming.

Efficiency and professionalism of the staff, with a 'can do' attitude. Highly recommended for the business traveller and also being child friendly for the leisure guest. Great selection of food in both the bar and restaurant. I have stayed on more than one occasion.

I liked all aspects, particularly the simplicity, warmth and welcome of the venue.

Situation, character,food and friendliness of staff. Good value as it was a special deal. We would definitely return.

Lovely 'vintage style' decor in the room, very clean and great shower.

No parking - had to park down a dark lane. As in all old buildings, the floor boards creak, so you could hear other people moving about and it was quite noisy.

Just what I needed. I have stayed a twice now, four nights each time, in diferent rooms. Friendly and charming staff, perfectly pleasant rooms much like home. Even had a power cut in the village one night, no lights or food but still got a beer candles with the log fire providing warmth. A really lovely place.

The comments from people moaning about the place on Trip Advisor. The Running Horses is in Mickleham, Surrey, so what on earth were you expecting; a Working Mens club ? a bar full of industrial workers ? or sea weary fishermen ? Please, get real people.

Stayed in the epsom room , not refurbished as yet , clean and quite basic , but lovely and warm

The sign was right outside our window & the lights shone into our window

Nice powerfull shower, however got cold after a while. Good hair dryer. Did not try breakfast but enjoyed the courtesy bottled water and biscuits

Too old, everything could do with a refresh, plaster, paint, windows, Ok if you like original features ( " Character") like single pane windows, old creaking floor boards, separte cold and hot water taps, small shower cubicle, nowhere to put things n bathroom, lino floor looking not 100% clean , no hanger for bathrobe, Bathroom bin not emptied from previous guest...did not watch the television but it was very small and ancient too (no flat screen). Small blood stains on bed spread. Hopefully not their best room, it was Epsom

Great old fashioned, traditional country pub with log fires and good food. Stayed in the Ascot room, which was fantastic. Lovely big bathroom, all modern and claw foot bath. Beautiful big four poster. Friendly staff ... and locals!

Only small flaw was that I would have liked lower lighting in the pub in the evening to complement the log fires and charm of the place. Was a bit bright and glaring!

I've stayed at the Running Horses a few times and have always enjoyed the experience. A traditional-feeling pub with posh restaurant attached, it manages the balance between comfort and formality very well. The rooms are comfortable and cosy - but remember that the building is a very old one, so they're a bit higgledy-piggledy! Breakfasts are fabulous. They're cooked to order and so are piping hot. the bacon and sausages seem to be of good quality and the morning waiter is brilliant.

Dinner is expensive and the bar prices are high. Perhaps they're in the mormal range for Surrey, but it's more expensive than Bath, which is reckoned to be quite pricy.

Nice counrty quirky hotel

Disapointed on the resruant service had t wait for almost 1 hr for strter to come had to ask for the manager to resolve the issue. Appears that a function was going on at the time I booked my table (1930hrs) but not to;ld there would be a dealy.

It's charm! The food was also fabulous with the best breakfast I've had in a long time.
