On arrival there was nobody about to greet us. We did not get to step over the door. This establishment had cease to trade as a hotel after making further enquiries. Luckily for us the Premier Inn had rooms.
The standard of the building, furnishing and decorations were very tired and we were so concerned about the condition of the accommodation and lack of guest service, there were no staff in the building when we arrived, that we did not stay.
The bed was clean and comfprtable
No staff ever. staff arrived asked for money their only concern and left after we saw our rooms. were locked out of hotel until 4.15 on day of arrival. No access to lounge as it was locked. Wpuld Not recommend
A lovely looking property as we drove up. Great location.
We found it a little strange that we never met any of the staff during our visit & no one to meet & greet etc. Our room was ok but obviously not hoovered as long dark hair was still all over the bedroom carpet & in the bathroom.
Half empty champagne left from previous guests. Old booking confirmation with previous guest details and bins not emptied before our arrival
Hotel was in great area with parking space.
Bathroom had leaky tap and hair in the bath drain, there was leak on the floor around toilet in the morning. For the price of £89 per night it could have Breakfast included. Carpet in the room was very dirty.
No breakfast No attendant to speak to Rooms are dated and old Needs refurbishing
the location was very good
the staff the cleanliness the price
the location was excellent for town centre activities and the hotel was clean and charming. The housekeeper was kind and friendly
No one on site and check in late at 4pm. Rooms not well maintained - light bulb not working, no tv and shower not easy to use.
The location,was good
We had no hot water for a wash in the bath ,Just in the sink.No large towels only two small type. The lady just asked for our payment ,did not show us the room.May be she new about the water and towels. She quickly disapeared.
No breakfast available.
The decor and room was shabby and not cleaned very well, the tea tray/table was covered in crumbs. The whole building smelt of dog. I will be staying there again.
This is avery poor hotel with poor rooms,
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
On arriving looked run down and inside needs updating. Expected better accommodation for the price.
Near to town (up a fairly steep gradient) Spacious room Spacious bathroom
No-one on premises to greet you on arrival (only phone contact) Bedroom window cracked and jammed open (on cold foggy night had to stuff gap with cushions to stop draught) No breakfast (nearest option 5 minute walk) Expensive for an average room, nothing more.
Booked 2 single rooms, but on arrival were told by the owner that none were available and offered a double room. Only given single rooms on insisting that we had booked them and showing her the booking form. No milk or hairdryer in room and told to go without. Window cracked, dirty and had old cobwebs round it. Bedside light faulty, it flickered and crackled. Shower didn't work and in my sisters room the toilet cistern leaked and had the sound of running water all night keeping her awake. Owner was totally unhelpful and didn't live on the premises. Very bad experience in a very run down hotel, This hotel was nothing like its description on the internet.
I would advise anyone that this hotel is the PITTS -- you would be more comfortable and cleaner in your own car!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED This "hotel" should come with a health warning.
The location was good and the bed was comfortable.
The lady who greeted us didn't seem to have a clue we were coming, then tried to charge us £40 more and only relented when I showed her my online booking confirmation. Only one towel in the room and no one around to ask for another.
The room sizes were very good, cleanliness was good although there were a couple of things we found behind chairs from previous people, excellent location all in all a good stay
Not enough car parking spaces, no one on hand for more milk for rooms, or for anything?
Refused to refund cancellation , although rebooked within 2 hours.
Location. Nice hot water. Off-street parking but limited.
No meal facilities. Relatively expensive for what it offered.
Friendly and helpful
The pictures of the hotel ! The one member of staff was a nice lady
The Actual Hotel ...
Hotel is within walking distance of town. Good-sized bedroom - contained double and single bed. Comfortable beds.
No restaurant facilities (despite leaflet asking guests to choose breakfast). Never saw any staff.
Take this lodging house off your books and get it inspected
Nothing. This place should be taken off your list.Nobody is resident there, there is no dining room facility, instead it is full of huge laundry bags. Cleaning is obviously seldom done, unwashed bathroom curtains, tea tray filthy, dirty dry flowers everywhere, dead flowers in hallway on dresser. Downstairs rooms locked.Lodgers appeared tone cooking their own meals as thy arrived with bags of food.Outside was like a builders yard, with dumped rubble.
