This hotel is a hidden gem. The restaurant in the basement is fabulous ! Lovely room, big comfy bed. Great nights sleep.

I struggled to get an internet connection.. but probably just my laptop. You really need to get rid of the toilet brush in the en suite...yuk !

Very comfortable room. Lovely view of garden. Very quiet. Not overlooked. Shutters behind heavy curtains helped to keep out early northern sunrise.

Shower flooded everything and everywhere. You don't want to sit on the loo with your feet in a pool of water.If there is no bath, a shower cap should be provided.

I had a room in the basement and the doors down there banged loudly shut. The person in the room next door, had her door open and shut all evening and into the small hours. She clearly had a friend in another room and there was endless conversation and to-ing and fro-ing between the 2 rooms. So for me the visit was spoilt by not being able to relax-- too noisy.

Great location for Edinburgh via bus or 30 minute walk. The staff were all very pleasant. Easy walk to Commonwealth pool and Salisbury Crags

Inability to control the temperature of the shower.

The bed was supposed to be a double and was to single pushed together. Was very small in length and feet poked out the end. The room had no fridge and could not get a beer when first arrived at the hotel late in the evening. They did advertise hot breakfast and staff seemed that they could be arsed to serve it. This is not a hotel but a b&b that very overpriced for what it is....rubbish

Early check in and late check out, staff very helpful and if you don,t want a continental breakfast the cooked breakfast at £3:50 is excellent value. Good bus links to city center if you don,t fancy the 30 min walk. Excellent Itallian restraunt just around the corner. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Limited parking, but you do have the option to double park your car if you leave the keys at reception.

The staff were very helpful in helping us get around Edinburgh, a city we'd never been to before! Nothing was too much trouble and we were always made to feel very welcome. The room was lovely, spacious and clean.

Having to carry our big suitcase up a big flight of stairs.... although I say this is my girlfriend's fault for packing too much ;-)

The staff were most helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very well appointed and very comfortable. Dinner in the associated restaurant downstairs was superb, with the added bonus of 10% discount for hotel guests. Overall we were delighted with the hotel.

This is a boutique hotel near to the centre of Edinburgh. The facilities are quite modern and acceptable. We were not able to eat in the dining room as it was not open on the day of our stay. We were able to eat at the Salisbury Arms just along the street, which was most acceptable. Breakfast was good with the tables labelled with the room names. However, locating the hotel was not easy. Even with the use of the satnav, we took over 20 minutes driving around the area. Better signage of the hotel name would be helpful. We also wondered what we do with our car if all the rooms tried to park their car as there were only six places.

Loved our room, beautifully decorated and very comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was amazing.

The kettle in our room didn't work which we didn't realise until the morning. The seal on the shower door was broken which caused vast amounts of water on the floor after showering.

I really liked the breakfast tray we got because we were leaving early next day.The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic staff very helpful.The room was large and very comfortable.It was close to the royal sick kids so we did not have far to go from the hotel. Excellent .

I think this hotel has something for everyone and there was nothing we did not like.

Closeness to the baths. Breakfast was excellent. Room was excellent.

Lovely hotel, room of very high standard. Staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal in the cafe cassis was superb.

Room was too small for a 4 night stay. Would have been okay for just one person or one night. Also no bath only shower and bathroom VERY small. Had more room on a boat!!!

The Sailsbury is a boarding house not a hotel so lacking hotel facilities.
