On Lowestoft seafront, The Sandcastle is a Victorian house overlooking the sandy beach. It is a flat, 10-minute walk from Lowestoft town centre, and serves home-cooked breakfasts made with local produce. Each pretty bedroom has a different décor, but all have a Sony TV and free Wi-Fi. Some bedrooms have views across the sea. Bathrooms are inside or outside the room, and some have unique power showers. The Sandcastle's friendly owners have created a relaxed atmosphere, and serve a full breakfast in the morning. Eggs and meat are from local farms, and the kippers are from a Lowestoft smokehouse. There are also homemade marmalades and jams to try. Lowestoft Train Station is just 650 metres away, and has a direct link to Norwich. Pubs, bars and eating places can all be reached on foot. Bed and breakfast: 4 rooms The most recent booking for this hotel was made on 23 May at 07:19 from United Kingdom.

Very nice and friendly owners. Very nice English breakfast included. The external (separate) toilet reduced comfort a little bit.

Location was good for what we needed The proprioter did not introduce herself or ask who we were.We were only asked if we would like a cooked breakfast, not asked how we would like our eggs no offer of grapefruit/fresh fruit/cereals. Room was lovely and fresh and clean but, needed bedside tables, bigger tv which would be lovely on the wall and would give more surface area as there was no where to put bathroom toiletries as it is a wet room. The tea tray was ok but, Jam jars for keeping Tea/Coffee not very professional Out of Eden have a good selection of items please look at there website. The bathroom as a wet room was small but ok, as it was a small washing basin the glass shelf just about covered the basin area making it awkward to wash. Small things need sorting would make a lot of difference.

Lovely room and comfy bed overlooking the sea. Extra surprise was having real ground coffee available in the room which I've never had at a B & B before. And v nicely cooked and generous breakfast. The shower door was dodgy to open and get in - if I had been a 'bigger' person I would have worried about busting it! But a minor quibble really - a lovely place and I will visit again and like to stay in the same room

Very comfortable cosy room. Good furniture, very comfortable bed, excellent wet room. Good selection of tea/coffee. Love the china. Stairs but then we are a mature couple. Perhaps more hand rail would be helpful.

Owner was vey welcoming, and explained everything to us. Room was lovely, clean and warm, had a good tv radio alarm clock and a great selection of teas and coffees. Breakfsat was amazing and all local foods. We had a seaview which was lovely. Our bathroom was seperate but this was not a problem.

Very warm welcome, lovely room and friendly atmosphere. We felt very well looked after, even though we'd only stayed one night. Breakfast was really nice, in a very pleasant dining room, and we definitely want to visit again!

We had a lovely time at the Sandcastle. The room was very comfy and the shower in the en-suite was wonderful. We had the use of a kettle in the room which cheered my husband no end as he is a tea freak. The breakfast in the mornings kept us going for the whole day. The couple who run the B&B are lovely. We would use this venue again if we were to return. Just a bit noisy from passing locals on the weekend we were there.

Excellent value. Breakfast was made with good ingredients. Particularly liked the thoughtful touches ie a bottle of water and ground coffee in the bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable and the view was perfect.

A good location close to the beach, shops and all transport services. Good breakfast, warm bedroom and comfortable bed/furniture. Difficulty in closing and opening front door leading to possible security issues. We think due to a faulty key which also did not allow us access during the day. Problems contacting proprietors on arrival, causing us to wait 1 hour and to contact tourist information office which luckily was open and had an alternative phone number to ring. Cramped en suite, awkward to use facilities

Very clean, good location, excellent breakfast cooked by the owners, nice room with sea view. As the owners are acting as hotel staff as well there is a feeling that they are a bit tired and bored if doing the same thing over and over again. Not sure if it was fatigue at the end of the season as we`ve stayed for a weekend in September. They are both very polite ad smiling however it just feels like it`s all a facade and they`d rather be enjoying a cuppa and a good book on a Sunday rather than look after guest. Maybe hiring a couple of younger/more enthusiastic members of staff would solve the problem. Other than this no faults with the hotel itself.
