Cold, noise, poor bed,
Brilliant food, brilliant beds and outstanding showers at an amazing price.
Staff`s friendliness and their care of guests` feeling of relaxation, amazing library, cosy dining room / patio with a transparent roof and a choice of food for breakfast there
In my room (probably the smallest one in the house) there was no way to plug a kettle (provided). It would be nice to have a tiny radio
Friendly staff, very clean room, great breakfast, good value for money
The only problem was that the room was a bit cold
easy walk to see interesting things and eateries excellent continental breakfast-huge choice and plenty of it very pleasant host
narrow street no parking avail and hard to find
The staff were very attentive even when the fire alarm was accidentally activated. Breakfast was great value for money and whilst 'continental' had something for everyone. Dog allowed to stay at no extra cost. Location is great for harbour, seafront (promenade) and also town shops and restaurants.
Shared bathroom down two flights of stairs. Room clean and tidy but tired decorations and a slight leak when it rained.
The owners were extremely helpful and make you feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble
The mattress was very wobbly! It was not comfortable and could feel springs underneath.
comfy bed, central location, tea coffee in room, breakfast, friendly and helpful staff
Top floor rooms too far from loos and shower but I was moved to a lower room so thankyou
Perfect location, Dogs can stay with you and Free of charge! Free WiFi and very good signal. Good welcome staff.
No parking. Cold in a bathroom and dining room.
Had everything required for a good nights sleep
Good location, easy walk to shops and beach. House very clean, no problem sharing bathroom as separate toilet also. Good amount of tea & coffee in room. Lovely continental breakfast lots of choice.
It was nice and clean pleasent people
Stairs to bathroom and no television basic breakfast no parking hard to find
This is our second visit and love the unique selection of tea and coffee. It's worth staying for the wide selection of continental breakfast its the best b&b breakfast we have had.
Just a shame its a shared bathroom.. No problems though as no queuing as there is a separate toilet.
it was a really lovely calm clean and really beautiful hotel .The breakfast was extensive and really good value for money.
the only thing was there was no radio or tv in the room but not too much of a problem as we were there to look arround the university.
lovely will come back, lovely staff
Amazing continental breakfast choice. Best ever in fact. Beautiful teas & coffee selection in room from a specialist shop in town. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Books everywhere. Quirky. Very clean. Free WiFi.
Noisy. Street noise carries at night as the usual quota of insomniac students wander home.. Noisy inside. Love the rug and floorboard look but prefer sleep. No sound insulation on landing/stairs. No mattress protector and bed quite lumpy. Shared bathroom (however, perfectly clean and a good size). No TV but take your tablet, laptop or read a book.. Room TINY. Don't take a cat and attempt to swing it. More hooks please, nowhere to hang anything!
Very kindly staff. Calm and quiet area. Ok price compared to other places in Aberystwyth. If going to Aberystwyth again I'd try another place to stay.
No sound insulation, could here most of what happened in the other rooms. Rooms were very small. Quite high price for a very small room and shared bathroom. If going to Aberystwyth again I'd try another place to stay.
very sweet couple who run the place.nice boutique style for a b&b.very clean.
The bathroom, bedroom, breakfast were all excellent. The book shelves, room décor and varnished floorboards gave great character to the property. Very clean and well presented.
Not having en suite bathroom facilities.
A Charming guest house with lots of character and very friendly staff. Ideally located for walking to beach and town centre.
Parking is a little problematic but most people seem to park on single yellow lines after 6pm and before 9am....except on Tuesdays.
Where do I start? This has to be one of the most charming and wonderful places I have every stayed at! From the outside you would never know the treasure that hides inside. The place is full of small rooms, corridors and wonderful corners full of books. A LOT of books. The whole place just invites you to grab a book, a mug of hot tea and sink into a chair in a corner and chill out. Thick carpets, spotlessly clean rooms, a lovely basket with tea and other assortments in every room, and even the shared but spotless bathroom made me feel like I was at home. But the real star of the place is the kind, smiley and charming hostess Marlena. She will do absolutelyt everything in her power to make sure you are comfortable and will go into the kitchen to make a cup of tea for you even very late at night with a big smile on her face! And as for the breakfast it needs to be seen to be believed. Heaps upon heaps of goodies, lovely jams, cheese, ham, and everything you could possibly need in a beautiful arrangement by Marlena herself. I can't believe she does all this work every single day but it just goes to show how much she prides her work! Definitely recommended when you are in Aber.
The hostel on the outside is completely invisible. It looks just like all the other houses on the street and it could use some revamp, a small patio or a bigger sign. The kitchen/patio area can get a bit cold at times when the temps drop. Having said that these are tiny things in a place that I could easily stay for a whole month or more!
I liked my stay short 1 night stay in many ways: the architecture of the house, the books and the small details, the cats visiting the small garden, the kindness of Marlena and Diana, the breakfast. I come from a Mediterranean country and after having spend some days in a big hotel for business reasons, I came here to enjoy one day staying on my own. This was the best a truly welcome in Wales.
Clean, comfortable + friendly + excellent value for money. Make sure you get the great value breakfast.
I liked: - the interesting selection of books, made available to guests, and the absence of a television. - the white walls, bare boards and junk furniture, all contributing to a kind of bohemian vibe. - the breakfast, of the full continental type, including cheese, ham and salami and smoked salmon. Also fresh fruit, warm croissants, etc. - Marlena, in charge of the house, who is just so nice, combining efficiency with warmth and charm. - the high quality tea and coffee (from the local specialist shop) provided in the room, along with a teapot, cafetière, bottled water, etc. - the shower -- worked well. - the plentiful linen. - the cleanliness of the bathroom and of the place as a whole.
I didn't like: - the mattress and pillows, cheap and fairly uncomfortable. - the minuscule proportions of my single room on the top floor. - having to sometimes wait to use the bathroom. The house has seven (?) rooms and only one bathroom (plus another room with toilet and washbasin), so queues are inevitable. But this and other limitations are obviously reflected in the price.
