Cosy room space, very frendly staff, good breakfast, cool location for cliff travel, good value for money
good local, near the front ,restaurant, and theatres.free parking, very good breakfast.very good value for money.
you may have to park a little way a way at peak times.
Carole and Bo are very welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent with plenty of choice and I also appreciated the good wifi coverage. Although I didn't make use of it, I liked the fact there is a guests lounge available. I expect to be back for my next visit to Eastbourne.
nothing! except having to go home
Here is a cosy, traditional English seaside B&B which is managed to a very standard. If you are fed up staying in soulless contemporary hotels, then the Sherwood is an excellent alternative. My room was spotlessly clean, warm, with a good sized bathroom/shower room. Breakfast was probably one of the best who will ever taste with high quality back bacon, a butchers sausage, free range egg and mushrooms freshly sauteed rather than out of a tin. All served on a piping hot plate. There was also a mini buffet of other breakfast items including a fresh fruit cocktail. Altogether a delightful stay and I look forward to my next visit.
Nothing to report
The owners are amazingly kind and welcoming . This is a lovely place and good value for money. Breakfast was great too. I'd def stay again.
Bed could be firmer
Very clean Hospitable owner-managers Kids loved it and all of them would go again (ages 15, 12, and 10)
Parking in the street can be an issue, but worth the slight inconvenience given the proximity to the promenade.
Location right by the sea 100 yards max. Very quaint perfect setting old style guest house. Lovely room with all the mod cons + very good Internet. Two small bottles of water and biscuits in room a nice touch. Great front TV room to chill and relax. Cooked breakfast with trimmings is first class, great menu and continental on hand - made the day. Great hosts Carol and Bo who will do what it takes to make your stay memorable. Parking is right outside the door with turn left to Pier or right to Beachy Head. A great two night stay - thank you!
cheap and clean
Nothing too much trouble for the staff were very friendly.Would definitely recommend for a short stay.
Only the view from our room but for the price we paid we couldnt complain.
Room clean and functional, parking permits to park out side the hotel, friendly staff.
We've stayed at The Sherwood on a number of occasions and have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and have always found the accommodation to be like a home from home. Very clean and comfortable and they do an excellent breakfast. The location is also excellent being near to station, buses, shops, theatres and restaurants.
We arrived a little early and went into the sherwood asked for a parking permit and was given permits for our 3 day stay. We had 3 single rooms all clean with tea making facilities, towels and tv. Our friend had a problem with her sink and toilet and was moved immediately into another room. Owners were very helpful in suggesting places to eat and finding local amenities. Breakfast excellent. One friend asked for a smaller breakfast and the other mixed and matched off the menu. In summary an excellent stay would recommend and definitely stay again.
Great breakfast, ideal location for tennis, restaurants and beach
Good breakfast. Pleasant helpful staff. Close to Theatres, restaurants, beach etc.
The friendly staff who took the time to tell us about restaurants and what we could do during our weekend stay. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary the proprietors went out of their way to make our stay special without being intrusive. Excellent breakfast!
We liked everything.
Friendly welcome. Clean room. Lovely breakfasts.
Quite location Excellent breakfast Comfortable rooms
Too many stairs - following an operation this was a problem for me, it is not a criticism of the hotel.
Comfortable beds, new furnishings in room and very clean. Bo and Carole are both very friendly and good hosts.
The twin room (room 3) was very tight to move around in The bathroom was very narrow with no sink.
The proprietors were welcoming, kind, friendly and very efficient, breakfasts excellent. For me the location was ideal. It was quiet at night, I'll stay there on my next trip
There was nothing that I didn't like.
the room was nice and clean, the owner very friendly and polite, we arrived a little bit late and it was no problem.
parking the car (not fault of the house! The Sherwood gave out parking permit and explained that the parking situation is relaxing after 10 pm, and it did. little minus: think about changing the butcher, the breakfast sausage was unusual soft ;)
Friendly staff. Comfortable. Good location. Wonderful breakfast.
Plumbing what quite noisy, but no real complaints.
Location, friendliness of staff, small touches like a bottle of water in the room as it was hot and a tea towel.
