The food was excellent and the room was lovely - beautifully clean

The door lock didn't close properly and there was a yapping dog left in a room in the evening

Proximity to the sea and beach. Dining room,side room and pub bar are appropriately furnished and comfortable.

The room was in the courtyard.

Everything! Particularly the friendly, relaxed, helpful staff, the delicious food in generous portions, the comfortable bar and the wonderful room.

Having to leave!

Lovely, peaceful relaxing stay, very comfy bed. Great food, good choice of wine and beers, lovely surroundings. Friendly locals in the bar, and a dog friendly place. We were made very welcome, nothing was too much trouble, and consequently felt thoroughly rested - even though we only stayed one night.

Not much to do in the village, so for shops and activities, we needed to go to Southwold. However, we wanted peace and quiet and we certainly got that. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep, even thought the wind was blowing an icy gale, and it was snowing! Shame one can't book the weather!

The room was cosy but well equipped & very clean. We had a 'good' room as opposed to a 'best' room and we were very happy with our quirky loft room. Slept well, no disturbances felt really relaxed.

Very noisy in the courtyard with delivery vans . Noisy cleaning staff . Very thin walls . Poor quality food .

Would prefer to have the bar area for drinking only as their are dining areas .it ment you may have to stand and have a drink as all seats were taken by diners

Couldnt fault The Ship. Room, food and staff excellent.

Its not a dislike but as it was winter when we stayed it was too cold to walk along the beach of an evening and nowhere else to have a walk too after we had eaten.

Location, relaxation and comfortable. Food was also very good and enjoyable, reasonably priced, but not quite what I would call 'gourmet'. But then who wants that? Intelligent and friendly staff.

The 'House Red' was abysmal and over priced. The shower was a little grubby and the water did not fall away from the tray well. Room Dingles. Also, we would have found the TV easier to operate had the remote control been working.

I liked the position close to places where I could follow my hobby-birdwatching.

I liked evertything about the place.

Its location next to beach and heath for hiking. The information package supplied in room was excellent. The quality of the food and service was very very good.

Staying in one of the outside rooms a covered walkway into the ship would have been handy on the occassion it rained.Also although being a resident I couldnt book a table for an evening meal.

Excellent food, good quality local ales, attentive staff, proximity to a beautiful beach and a lovely rural location. Close to Southwold, which is a lovely seaside town to visit and also close to the RSPB Nature Reserve at Minsmere

Good clean bedrooms in a converted Stable block. There was a beer festival on when we arrived and a great atmosphere in the very old pub. Good food too. Very friendly staff. Fairly central if you are exploring by car. Southwold, Aldburgh & Woodbridge in reach.

It really is off the beaten track, in fact the speed the cliffs are eroding it may end up off the mainland! Ideal base for Walkers (Dunwich Heath) Cyclists,, Birders (Minsmere) of which none of those activities are we involved in!

maybe a personal thing.... in an otherwise very nice room Bed side lights not at right position to read in bed and duvet to hot with no options to change. If you go outside the basic pub food menu the food is not so good
