Staff excellent food superb location great
Room. Bed. Location. Staff. Food.Bar.
Broken lift meant lots of stairs to third floor.
Cleanliness, location, food and quality of service
Room 36 was relatively small for the price. It also became increasingly irritating early morning when the water tank needed to be refilled. The noise PE ented sleeping. Management need to look into this for the benefit of longer stay guests.
The ambience of the hotel, superb interior.Have visited before and returned because of this.
Wish breakfast staff could have been more attentive.
The location was good and the reception staff were professional and friendly.
For the price, the room was small, the curtains were torn, the bathroom was pokey and the hot water in the shower very unreliable and potentially dangerorous. Service in the reataurant at lunch and breakfast was innatentive and the food did NOT live up to its publicity. Dried out bacon and sausages, luke warm scrambled eggs, I also resent having to make my own toast in a 4* hotel
Very good location, newly refurbished rooms, good bar
Food aspects were below expectations Some staff need more customer service training
Comfortable and excellent location. Room and bathroom well upgraded and good size. Lovely hot English breakfast included.
Overall décor is nice, good location and helpful staff.
Extremely uncomfortable mattress (way too soft) and very hot room.
the cosy environment
breakfast cereals limited choice and ran out of orange juice
Location and staff excellent. Room and bed very comfortable, quirky decoration - great if you enjoy reciting Shakespeare! (I do). Grateful for the provision of two comfortable chairs (but why no sidetable?). A fabulous breakfast. Good dining room if a bit pricey, with an over-indulgence in fake flowers.
Dreadful lighting. Room lighting should be adjustable, not dim or dim. And a candle would allow you to read more easily than the 'reading' lamps provided. I moved the desk lamp to the bedside and it was still too dim to read comfortably. But that is my only complaint.
Down stairs was nice, but the room was very basic really couldn't see how £175 a night was justified
Rooms where very basic
Everything, staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, wi fi,tv and kettle in room. Food excellent from breakfast buffet, great choice to murrys restaurant fantastic food and lovely staff
Free car park, excellent location, good quiet room booked at an excellent price ( full price is expensive). Staff generally friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast choices. Nice bar.
Staff at breakfast were forgetful first morning - brought coffee instead of tea and had to be reminded twice to bring milk. This was not repeated the other mornings. Ran out of smoked salmon on the last morning
Room. Dining room, Food , Staff
1Car-park: I displayed my permit (printed off). but there appeared to be no others on display. Suspect lots of non-entitled folk gum up the arrangements, making entry and exit very tricky. 2. Surprised no marmalade at breakfast (only pippy jam) on day one. Astonished no-one had slipped to the shops so same complaint on day two.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The building combines historic elements and modern design very well. Excellent location with parking in the city centre.
Location Comfort Staff so friendly and helpful Cleanliness
Nice room and food.
Price of rooms.
breakfast, staff, funny old lift & great gin & tonics in bar
Room located next to stairs and an internal door - Therefore was disturbed every time someone went to the stairs. Staff remained on the telephone whilst trying to check out
Stayed in bedroom 2. Very small. Would not want to stay more than one night in that room.
*position *restaurant *helpful staff *comfortable lounge area *car park
*poor bedroom lighting particularly in entrance area where mirror located. *no mirrored dressing table *minimal shelving in bathroom
Restaurant staff were not very good
Well located for the centre of Chichester, the hotel is comfortable and the staff courteous and helpful. Good restaurant too.
Slightly chilly room, which ironically also lacked a fridge (but the window-sill worked for our wine).
Quiet room with cathedral views. Plenty of storage space. Very enthusiastic staff and good breakfast choices. Pleasant hotel atmosphere.
Shower was not as powerful as I'd like.
This is our third visit at this time of year and we loved it . The room was cozy and the breakfast was wonderful, such a choice.
We had been informed that Christmas parties would be taking place during our visit but we would be placed as far away from the 'noise' as possible .Room 8 ,on the first floor is not the ideal for this ,we thought the party goers were in our room!
