The hotel was very comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was so delicious and brilliant value for money.
The window latch was broken and the radiator was on full so very very hot during the night.
Food excellent and breakfast huge
Should have checked about a lift before I booked,Stairs to the 2nd floor were very steep. room very hot even in October.
refurbishment of the hotel/pub. atmosphere in bar.
bed was too soft for my liking. the curtains in the bedroom are inadequate to keep out the light from the car park security lights.
The Hotel was clean warm and friendly
Location, not far from the motorway Plenty of parking Friendly staff Modern bathroom Decoration of the room Comfy bed Breakfast selection
It's my second time I'm here, I really don't have anything to point
As a single traveller I like being given a decent double room. Everything is of good quality and clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast alone is worth going for!
I had to ask a) for the WiFi password and then b) for times of breakfast as there was no info in the room (maybe that page had been removed). Also the light above the basin did not work. The telephone was not working either, but that seemed to be a temporary problem throughout the hotel.
Super location looking across the estuary to Wales.
No fruit available at breakfast.
Hotel in lovely position. Staff friendly and polite.Great Breakfast
Shower rather difficult to control temperature
Location, views, food service
I loved the rooms, they were well presented with little touches such as tea and coffee facilities, biscuits and nice bathroom supplies. The meals were great and a nice selection at breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely location with a good breakfast. Had a meal in the bar which was excellent.
Helpful and polite staff. Very comfortable bed. The en-suite bathroom has been created with a degree of low cost style, but it is clean and modern.
No refrigerator in room, so UHT milk for tea and coffee.
Location, food, good sized rooms, majority of staff helpful & friendly
More vegetarian options would be appreciated.Breakfast staff seem to be overworked which reflected in their attitude. This is sad as over the years it seems to slip a little each visit
Great improvement, very good breakfast
Location great. Food was fantastic. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely leisurely breakfast - plenty of choice.
Great location in Parkgate. Lovely food in the restaurant with a really pleasant atmosphere. Although we couldn't get a paper, we enjoyed being able to browse the papers at the hotel in the morning.
The location overlooking The Dee.
Good beer and wine. Nice outlook, good car parking. Good Wi-Fi
May be a challenge for some to get up stairs, not a negative for me but may be worth checking which floor you are on.
Very rural atmosphere on side of the river Dee, but quiet eateries and small bars to please all. Wildlife, sunset, etc. Friendly local people and a historic old port. Hotel quiet, breakfast incredible choice. Bathroom well equipped with toiletries, drinking chocolate and biscuits included on hospitality tray - always a good sign! Amazing location and yet so convenient for a major city.(about 13 miles to Liverpool). Hope to stay again.
Faulty mixer tap, but now notified and handyman already on the case within the hour!
The numerous sea/naval pictures and curiosities in every part of the hotel The fact that the building's character has been preserved The view at the front The excellent steak and fish and chips
Too-thick and heavy duvet - changed at our request after first night
Great location and breakfast
no airflow in the rooms
The breakfast was lovely, so much choice. The staff were very friendly. The room/bathroom was very clean.
The shower lacked pressure.
They remembered my first name. There were excellent menu and drinks choices. The room and bathroom were immaculate. The chefs were superb and whoever made my Thai curry on Saturday night should have an entry in the Michelin Guide.
I do wish you didn't have to ask for water, although it was supplied on request.
