An excellent breakfast and evening meal with attentive staff. A bar area with a good atmosphere. Good value all round.
We loved the location and the views. The food was very good indeed (we lived close by for many years but did not realise how good it was). The room wasn't huge but was very well designed so it did not matter.
There was nothing really not to like though we could not pick up the wifi signal from our room.
No flexibility with duvet ie too hot with heating pipes
The Ship Hotel is lovely, lovely staff, a beautiful building & in an excellent location. I would highly recommend.
Really helpful & friendly staff. Very nice room with excellent bathroom. All spotless and gleaming. Evening meal was delicious as was breakfast. Fantastic value for money.
We liked the location, the staff were all very helpful and the food was excellent. We were able to park at all times which is always a benefit. The room was very clean and pleasant and the en suite was newly refurbished so excellent. We would be very happy to stay here again.
The stairway and the landings were tired however this did not spoil our stay at all.
Lovely and warm Stall very helpful Situation excellent Breakfast very good
Extra charges for vegetables , chips etc with certain meals Food was expensive for a pub meal but well cooked
Warm welcome by friendly staff; clean double room, ensuite, cosy bar/restaurant with a real fire
Squeaky bathroom door - and maintenance man soon sorted it!
Room, breakfast, everything
I enjoy the surrounding and the location the staff. Are very helpful and friendly.

walls need sound proofing
Room number 16 in The Ship appeared to be over the 'engine room' - it was not a peaceful night & very little sleep was possible due to the noise. Wifi not available in room 16 either
Lovely staff, location, wine list, choice at breakfast, comfy bed, plenty of hot water
Noise of the fan or generator which ran all night, very small bedroom, leaky shower, uninspired hospitality tray, lukewarm cooked breakfast
Great view from bedroom...we were in Lord Nelson's room. Comfy bed, everything nice and clean and plenty of milk, tea and coffee on the tray.
Nothing to dislike!
welcoming staff, warm and cosy in a cold winter
Excellent staff and food. Would definitely visit again and would highly recommend to friends.
Although the room was very basic it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The reception rooms were welcoming and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
The bedroom could do with upgrading.
noise penetrated from bar below, corridor and rooms alongside
Cosy , comfortable, nice food , good price
friendly staff good value for money
Staff, excellent breakfast and location
require better lighting in room 23!
Clean and comfortable room. Good state of decoration. Helpful friendly staff. Good food. Lovely location on the Parade at Parkgate with views across to North Wales.
Just minor detail i.e. curtain hanging needed repair.
Sparkling bathrooms with sensible showers (don't need an engineering degree to operate them). Great beds and linen. Good 'pub' food. Comfortable bar to relax in with friendly staff. Plenty of free newspapers. Fascinating location. Easy parking. Perfect place to relax.
Lots of steps and heavy doors. (Two of our party were nearly 90, so it mattered on this occasion.) One overheated bedroom - the radiators turn off but the massive pipes between them don't!
