We were made to feel very welcome by the landlord and landlady who were lovely people. The bar is great, the locals were good fun and the breakfast was amazing. We were upgraded to a room at the back which cut down on the noise from the road. The room was a very good size and like the bathroom was immaculately clean. We were told about the n oise from the road before booking and what can I say? Yes there were rumblings from the trucks and lorries from the road but this is an old coaching inn and was there before the vehicles! The reviews were excellent and this is why I chose the pub. I will happily stay here again. Plenty of parking and a pelican crossing to get over the busy road...no problems at all.

The family who run The Shoe Inn were very hospitable, on arrival we were warmly greeted by Shirley who could not do enought for us, the room spotless and comfortable. The food very good quality and plenty of it. We loved our stay with Kevin & Kerry and would stay with them again. Thank for all of your service.

The Shoe Inn is a pleasant pub/inn run by a nice couple who strive to make your stay enjoyable. The pub has a real fire, decent ales and some old world charm. The restaurant food is reasonable and the breakfast is ok. My room was situated at the front of the Inn and therefore right on the main a road. With the windows close you could hear passing traffic but it wasn't too bad. If it was warm and you wanted to open the window it would be very noisy. The room was also very small with a smallshower, ok for a single but not as it was designed as double.

The waitress/barmaid/receptionist was excellent, friendly, attentive, observant and helpful. The food was excellent and the room clean and comfy. The shower was just right, great to have a bath too. The road was noisy and felt like there was a railway outside.

Excellent staff and great facilities and games room. Ideal location for walking and hiking. Good food and drinks. I would stay again for sure! As we booked so late we were allocated the front facing room so had a fair bit of traffic noise! But that's it otherwise an excellent stay!

Excellent accommodation!!! Very friendly staff. The room was perfect for us,small and compact, only thing they might consider is changing the tv to a flatscreen as my girlfriend whacked her head on the bracket.can't help the road which is very fast and busy.Overall though we loved are stay and would recommend the band which play on a Friday night. Excellent.!!!

the positive and polite attitude of the owners. For a small pub/hotel they were doing a good job in a friendly manner. the standard of the room we were in was better than most 4* hotels I have stayed in across Britain and the world. It was spotless and comfortable and nice little extras in the bathroom. Bear in mind this was a small pub/hotel, good value for money In this section most people who stayed in the rooms looking out onto the main A36 Salisbury to Southampton road, will be complaining about the noise from the traffic. I am not. I was aware of the hotel's position on the A36 and was expecting it.It is a main road!! I was even offered earplugs by the owners! Not needed. I had a few very pleasant drinks at their bar and slept very well

Warm, friendly and comfy. Good food and attentive staff. At first the traffic on the a36 shook the room which took a bit of getting used too but after a while all was fine.

Everything ok with hotel excellent staff/food etc Everything ok with hotel except do not stay in any room road side the noise from the traffic hitting the rumble strip on the road just outside the inn means an interupted sleep as I found out in room 5

Great welcome; great service; really fun bar staff. Food was very reasonable. If you're as tired as I was the thunderous noise form the road won't bother you so tip of the day: turn up tired. Beer was served at an arctic temperature which really should be addressed. English bitter - that cold? I mean. Really.
