Room comfort and cleanliness. Inn location and town. Good meals.Nice bar/pub atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Poor bar service by young male barman. Shared bathroom.
We were very happy with our stay at The Silverton, the staff our friendly & helpful the food was lovely & the accommodation was very clean & tidy we look forward to visiting again next year, many thanks to all at The Silverton Hotel.
A very clean and beautifully fitted room. The hosts were very friendly. The restaurant/pub on the ground floor very cosy with great service and food (breakfast and dinner). The setting of the little village close to Exeter was great.
Friendly staff made you feel most welcome. The room was spotless and excellent value for money with en suite facilities and even a dressing room. The meals in the bar are reasonably priced and variety was good with special offers on most evenings. It's quiet but also used by locals who were also welcoming. A gem of a place. We will definitely stay again.
Quirky lay-out, good facilities, friendly staff.
Some of the decor! Also, unless you're into a fry for breakfast, breakfast is very limited / poor. For example, no fruit! More effort needed for those of us who think about our health!
The manager contacted me well in advance to check I was OK with the fact that a music festival was being held at the venue and put me in a rear-facing, quiet room as a result. The décor was very tasteful and the facilities were excellent. The breakfast was very well cooked.
There wasn't a great range of cereal or juice.
Lovely large room [ask for Room 6!] with innovative route to the shower-room
The bathroom fan was a bit noisy and disturbed our friends in Rm 5. We forgot to mention this to the landlord, but no doubt it can easily be remedied.
really quiet location, excellent facilities and the food was the best and great value for money try the pies!!!!!!
Room was nice, clean, very comfortable. Staff friendly, helpful and polite.
Location a little remote. Parking slightly difficult.
Good food in evening, good breakfast, location convenient to my requirements as stop-over for End to End cycle ride.
Had to wait a little while outside before there was someone available to let me in. Initially no answer when I rang the specified number.
1x Shower room to service 5 rooms. Bigger towels. Breakfast could have more on plate not the full English like mentioned.
Very hospitable and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. We didn't eat or drink in the bar, but prices were very reasonable and the menu had a good range of pub food favourites. Communal bathroom was clean and perfectly adequate.
Quite hard to find staff on arrival and departure, but very helpful when we managed to track them down. We had a tiny room which was a real squeeze for 2 people and no en-suite (which we knew about before booking). Very few plug sockets and just a hanging rail for clothes. No parking available at the pub, but we were able to park for free about 150 metres away.
Friendliness and 'pie night'
The exterior is a little disappointing - that might just be the heavy rainstorm as we arrived.
Very good and pleasant stay. Very nice evening meal within the public house
Cooked breakfast was served from 8.00-9.00. No good if you have to be in Exeter for 9.00am for business
Assistance in getting luggage up stairs
No onsite parking Limited wifi availabilities Steep stairs No dining room meals served on a Sunday night
The staff were lovely
The manager was rude and unhelpful
The hotel was quiet and comfortable, pleasant staff, in a beautiful village and the breakfast was excellent. I thought it was in a good position for onward travel to Cornwall.
The bathroom was shared by several rooms but I didnt actually find it a problem for the one night.
Everything (Great room, great food, friendly staff)
The owners were so friendly it wasn't like staying in an hotel, it was more like staying with friends. The food was excellent, Shane's pies are something else! We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel unreservedly.
There was nothing that we did not like about the Silverton Inn.
The room we had was so spacious and extremely clean, certainly value for money. We only stayed one night so decided to eat in the pub, nothing but good home cooked food which was fab.
The parking was very limited, which was only basically find a spot along the road.
I enjoyed my stay just for 1 night only it was a very comfortable bed and a very nice room.
A very warm welcome, and all the staff were very friendly. A clean, well decorated and nicely furnished room. The food was cooked fresh to order and tasted great, and was good value for money, the breakfast was especially good. I will definately be staying here again when I'm in this area.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the rooms were really comfortable. Locattion well cited for access to the main south west road networks. Cannot get over the value for money. Give me this kind of relaxed atmosphere and service over the more widely know hotels any day!
Nothing really to dislike. However, a comfy chair in the bedroom would have been welcome and the bath towels really need to be bath sheet sized.
Really nice room food and lovely friendly owners
