Cromwell's Inn is a small town hotel right in the centre of Shrewsbury. It offers comfortable bedrooms, a secluded garden and free Wi-Fi access.
Score from 352 reviews Very good
Good location near to shops and river. Smart and comfortable. Twin de luxe was very roomy. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The meal in the restaurant was good value, tasty and a tidy portion. The live music on both nights was an added bonus.
The room at the front of the hotel was noisy although ear plugs were provided. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, quite small portions and a limited choice if you didn't want cooked. They seemed reluctant to provide much toast!
Nice sized room with good amenities. Free parking. Nice bar area. Gastro pub type food. Good price for service and comfort on offer!!
Road noise - windows dont block much but the hotel does leave earplugs by the bed so this can dealt with!!
We had a really enjoyable stay at The Silverton. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much for them. The rooms were beautiful and exceptionally clean. Breakfast gorgeous... can't wait to return...
Cannot fault this Hotel, just 7 Bedrooms but all staff very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean , comfortable and in excellent decorative order. We had two Breakfasts (included in tariff) and two evening meals which were both superb and good value. We would recommend this hotel
Free parking,,! Friendly staff... Very comfortable n clean beds...
Location a little bit off from from the centre of activities..
We liked the central position of the hotel. The room was extremely comfortable and the ensuite facilities were excellent. It was our first visit to Shrewsbury and we found it to be very attractive with a lovely park and shopping facilities.
Good shower Clean room although on a major slope but you can expect that with old places Comfy bed Lovely staff - owner should take a back seat or learn about customer service from her staff
Noisy room - so noisy in fact that it comes with standard issue earplugs - not a deluxe experience Rude owner (apparently changed hands recently so might not stay 9.1 for long) who told my partner she could not order room service evengthough she was spending evening in room with baby so it was a sarnie from Waitrose Selection of pastries was one type of inedible thing, cooked breakfast was poor Coffee was disgusting and weak
heat not on in bedroom on arrival, heater in bathroom worked now and then too cold to have shower on first night. no wardrobe to hang your clothes. bedroom very small, stains on carpets. bathroom fan turned off ?.second morning said there was yoghurt none to be seen, no cereal bowls out and no teaspoons. never nine rated in its life.
Good location for visiting town centre
Car park was not great, but will always be difficult for town centre hotels
Staff Cocktails Bed Shower
Great place to stay, lovely rooms, lovely facilities, great staff.
There was nothing we did not like, it was lovely.
Food was excellent. Superb evening meal.d
Bad smell of drains in bathroom. Told staff and someone came and poured drain clear down shower drain. Smell still there next morning.
Attention to detail friendly staff private parking quality of breakfast
Staff was very helpful and friendly. room was very nice.
Room was too hot. Could not open window enough to let fresh air in.
Easy book in, friendly, helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Secure off road car parking. close to town centre. A lovely nights stay, will stay again and recommend to others.
The staff at The Silverton were some of the friendliest and helpful staff I have come across in any hotel. Lovely Food. Live music in the front bar. All in all a fantastic stay will be back soon.
The location just over Welsh Bridge was ideal as was the free on-site parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The food in the restaurant was immaculately presented and cooked to perfection. Overall a really nice experience. Already talking of going back early next year.
The only downside for me (just being a little picky) was that even though the restaurant wasn't too busy, service seemed quite slow - although see the comment on how fabulous the food was - well worth the wait.
Friendly approachable staff Excellent breakfast and amount of choice available Convenient location with ability to walk to all the local attractions with ease
Reasonably priced with decent food and a nice room
Staff very young and lacking experience. I wanted room service for food but was told that they did not do room service contrary to info on line and also info in room. Staff tried to enter my room before I had left. (Could have been embarrassing) Staff had no idea where iron & board were kept.
Friendly staff, ate in the hotel on the evening, lovely relaxed atmosphere, great food and service.
The quirky mismatched furniture and modern decor make it very interesting and it has a welcoming vibe. Staff were extremely pleasant.
No iron or robes in the bedroom as was stated on the room booking confirmation. However, wasnt a problem we asked for an iron which was brought to the room - lived without the robes!
friendly staff and nice bar etc. Nice room but would say more like a 3 star
a/c unit dripped water all night onto the tea area which is where I had my camera so not happy there.
Plus points-really nice room no 1.Very comfy bed.bathroom had really nice shower and heated mirror.Being november nice a warm room and bathroom also car park is a bonus as parking is a premium in shrewsbury.Would book here again when visiting Shrewsbury
Was given the wrong room when we arrived.didnt know till girl with Scottish accent came in our room and told us,but didn't matter to us as we had unpacked and we were happy with the room. Also asked for eggs benedict first morning they didn't have any second day no mayonnaise sauce and ham was cut into little chunks odd?.finally being from the Black Country being called a brummie by the Scottish girl ( remember not to do it the next time we visit )
Relaxed atmosphere, comfort everywhere, steak wonderful, lovely stay.
Proximity to town centre. Very good car parking behind hotel, and free! Excellent meal deals in hotel restaurant/bar. No traffic noise when in bedroom. Very pleasant/attentive staff.
The shower needs attention, almost impossible to turn on/off. Would have preferred a larger bed.
