Selected, and paid for, a "King Room" however upon arrival were assigned a standard double. It was comfy enough however was not what we wanted so felt slightly hard done by considering you are given a choice when booking.
Clean and modern. Really helpful staff. Good location.
A few noisy guests who slammed doors. Not the hotel's fault.
Excellent, helpful and friendly service from each member of staff who were a credit to the hotel and Shrewsbury. Fresh milk in a fridge in the room was a good touch. The food we ate was good quality and cooked to a high standard.
Lovely clean hotel with a nice basic breakfast. Wish we'd stayed longer to take advantage of the bar terrace.
Room next to the road which was quite noisy.
Possibly the most impressive aspect of our stay was the switched on staff. Friendly , helpful and efficient. The room although small was well equipped and comfortable. Good bed!!! nice walk in shower above all CLEAN through out. Breakfast good . Thoroughly recommend this business.
Three flights up to the room with only a lift to the first floor. Not for the elderly.
Helpful and friendly staff, cleanliness of room, good evening meal and breakfast.
My room was close to road and noise was distracting until later when traffic died down.
Location - just a short walk across river Severn into town centre Spotless, spacious ensuite room with air con and small fridge (with 2 complimentary bottles of water and fresh milk) Complimentary toiletries and huge heated towel rail in bathroom with power shower Spacious, airy dining room and bar areas Free on site parking Welcoming, attentive and helpful staff Hearty breakfast
Staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make us hapoy & comfortable and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived . Bed exceptionally comfy , bar was lovely and just a short stroll from the town centre . Owners clearly love their hotel and they deserve great success .
Poached eggs were not runny but that's just a tiny nit pick - as rest of breakfast was first rate .
Nothing was too much for co-owners David and Donna. Friendly staff. Location almost on the river was excellent. The room and bathroom were well-presented, clean and spacious. On-site parking is an added bonus. Excellent value with quality a-la-carte breakfast included in price.
My husband stayed here whilst in Shrewsbury for a family party. We were disappointed that we could only have a twin room but it was made up with two small doubles and the room was well appointed and very comfortable. Wifi was easy to access and very fast. All staff were very friends and nothing was too much effort
There was a band playing in an adjacent pub upon arrival which was very load in the hotel but this was during the day and stopped by the time we were ready to go to bed and didn't disturb our sleep.
Great, friendly service. Comfortable beds. Breakfast. Provision of earplugs in rooms facing road
The bed was awesome the room spacious ,clean, comfortable, the staff very friendly and efficient
The noise from the road side and people walking past into the early hours of the morning which caused me to have limited sleep
Comfortable, well maintained boutique hotel convenient walking distance to town centre with secure parking. Very friendly and efficient staff and excellent breakfast.
Perhaps a tad expensive and noise from nearby pub but this, of course, was not the hotel's fault!
Excellent bedding, modern & clean bathroom
We had a room facing the street, which can be noisy at night. For breakfast, we had to wait 30 min. The tea was cold when the cooked breakfast arrived.
The free wi-fi and excellent breakfast!
My room was on the front so so it was a little noisy
Room was lovely, modern, clean with good facilities and a decent size. The shower was particularly excellent with a heated towl rail. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and it was in a good location.
My ONLY negative comment was that because our room overlooked the main road, it was slightly noisy and would certainly keep a light sleeper awake. Ask for a room at the back.
best place we have stayed in shrewsbury, clean and comfortable.friendly staff, great breakfast.
Overall an excellent venue, close to the centre but far enough to be away from any noise. Lovely building, interior & fittings. We were a group of 3 couples & were made to feel very welcome, giving us a choice of rooms. Hospitality at the bar was great & service excellent.
Not sure the breakfast staff were experienced as the table was only part laid, we had to keep asking for cutlery / cups / butter etc & service from the kitchen was slow.. But it was a Sunday morning & we weren't in a hurry. The twin room (occupied by my parents) seemed to be the only room without aircon & it was HOT! They were provided with 2 air fans but didn't really help. It was a very hot weekend so this was a shame.
Very friendly owner. Clean and comfy
Other staff not so good. Drains smelly and very noisy at the front
Great location, excellent breakfast selection and service. Room nicely decorated and clean. Staff very helpful and quick to respond to questions and requests.
Had to ask for towels as not enough provided in the room even though we had booked a triple room and also had to ask for a sheet to make up the 3rd bed. Used the supposedly free pick up service from the train station but was charged the taxi fare.
Very welcoming staff, great location, very clean and well appointed. Guests have % reduction on all food and drink in the hotel and the menu was very worthwhile. Overall cannot fault the Silverton.
Comfortable beds. Excellent bedding. Modern bathroom with shower. Good parking. Good sized room.
Traffic noise under windows. We felt that the restaurant let the hotel down. No yoghurt or croissants at breakfast one morning. Light bulb in bathroom needed replacing, toilet seat loose. However these problems were rectified very quickly.
I really liked the breakfast and the fact that you can park your car very close to the centre of the old town ( as car parks are £1,50 x hour or more around there). So you still have the use of your car without having to park it too far away.
The size of the room was just about good (wanting to be picky!)
Fairly good location and clean.
Asked for quiet room but backed onto car park and very noisy pub garden opposite with outside marquee. Room not cleaned until after 2pm. Breakfast took 40 minutes first morning even though only 3 other diners present, all had complained the previous day too. very poor - very unhealthy choice on offer -no fresh fruit of any description and limited cereals. Requested different breakfast next morning which was 20 minutes later than time said we would be dining and because of inadequate choice left without even a mouthful of food. Worst of all room stifling hot, think we were next to boiler house or something, it was like a furnace when you opened the door, we had to sleep with heads at foot of bed to get only slight relief from an electric fan. All in all worst hotel we've stayed in. Our first visit to Shropshire was totally ruined. Thank goodness we had already cancelled a third night. Definitely not worth money we paid and correspondences sent to manager has been very very slow to be replied and not given satisfactory conclusion. Not a couple who complain much but very saddened about this whole experience.
Clean, well positioned hotel with the friendliest and most competent staff we have met.
