Two miles from the centre of Sheffield, Halifax Hall provides luxurious boutique accommodation in a Victorian mansion setting. Its en suite double rooms all have free Wi-Fi and parking.
Score from 608 reviews Superb
On the A619, just off junction 30 of the M1 motorway, the hotel makes a great base from which to visit the Peak District, Sheffield and Nottinghamshire, with free parking and comfortable en suite...
Score from 283 reviews Very good
Boasting views over Derbyshire and Bolsover Castle, here you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and benefit from the peace and tranquillity of a rural yet accessible location.

Just a 9-minute drive from the centre of Chesterfield , the Olde House by Marstons Inns offers accommodation and an attractive restaurant and bar in Derbyshire.

There was nothing to dislike
Bed, outdated decor/furniture
Everything good value for money.
Room was great. Staff were fantastic at a very good rate.... would go again without question.
Disappointed in the scrambled eggs I had for breakfast. They were either cooked too much or had been sitting around for a while as they were very rubbery.
room good size. pleasant to be in staff friendly tea and coffee facilities good plenty of space to park
breakfast was disappointing some equipment in room did not work, such as trouser press and radio wedding function quite loud (we were on same corridor).
Fantastic service, fantastic staff, great room and a great nights sleep & a fab breakfast My partner and I would definitely go back Keep up the good work Sitwell Arms
Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was superb.
Shower design awful. At no stage either at breakfast or on checking out were we asked if everything was ok.
Very good rooms and main hotel facilitates. parking easy breakfasts good good access to motorway network helpful staff
would have been nice for restaurant to have been open. Main bar area looks a bit tired. food in bar not expensive but poor with the exception of breakfast. a bit rowdy (1 or 2 individuals) later on
Good friendly helpful staff, good location,
Guests of a wedding at the hotel still making a lot of noise after half 1 in the morning outside people's rooms, cooked breakfast was a little smaller than expected - only got 1 of everything.
Reception and breakfast chef excellent bent over backwards for us very impressed and very friendly
Bar staff had not got a clue what drink was what when we ordered and couldn't buy red wine by the glass
Food is excellent value for money
Everything apart from very poor wifi signal in the bedroom
Very clean room, comfortable and very acceptable for price. Breakfast in the morning was also very good
I arrived a lot earlier than check in time as I was there for a wedding. I did not want to check in but merely let staff know I had a room for later for my own peace if mind to ensure that they were expecting me before I settled down to enjoy myself at the wedding. the receptionist was not very helpful and a bit unfriendly, rudely informing me it was way to early to check in without allowing me time to fully explain myself
The rooms were excellent; the food was well cooked and ample - with a good pint of beer!
Failed to make the early morning call to one of the two rooms booked: if we hadn't had our own alarm clock this could have been disastrous as we had a business meeting. When we remarked on this to the man at the desk he simply denied he'd failed to call.
Nice food , helpful staff
lack of toiletries no plug in the bath and nor was one found that fitted the bath hole. main bar doesn't open for meals till 5.30pm Always the same "basic" room whenever booked through this site!
Good restaurants very nice food. Friendly staff. Very quick wi-fi
Very dated and tired. Tiles hanging off the wall in the brown bathroom!
great staff good food fair price Excellent value for money
Some if the staff had an unprofessional attitude discussing their drinking habits very loudly. I didn't appreciate being told to wait in a que at the bar for a drink even if it was cup final night
The breakfast was really good and well presented. After voicing our concerns we were offered another refurbished room over looking the gardens with a walk in shower. A great improvement. Based on this we have booked again. The food in the bar is good but it would be nice if everything did not only come with chips!! we had room service which was extremely well presented, quick and the staff very helpful.
The first night was awful. No sleep until 4.00 am. Noisy wedding guests outside swearing and fighting. Night porter did nothing to make it better. Asked for a room with walk in shower as I have mobility problems - given an old room, I haven't seen a brown bath for years. This had a shower over the bath and overlooking a noisy road and car park with an air conditioning unit that made a terrible noise all night. Duty manager did not acknowledge our concerns at breakfast!!!! There are signs warning you about the hot water. Believe me it is nuclear and dangerous if a child was to use it without parental supervision.
Biscuits are great lots of tea coffee .cotton sheets . Good tv
Larger bed in room three needs a new mattress and water to hot.
very comfy bed.Nice view.friendly staff reception and breakfast.Handy to travel to see family and friends.Food good.Would come again in the future.
Need more light in the car park.Woke up at 2 and 4 in the morning doors banging but due to other visitors?Feel a room that needs redecoration should be a bit cheaper.Know other people that would like to stay if allowed pets
Grounds were very nice when we arrived all front doors were locked it looked like it was closed a lit of custom was lost as other people thought the same as us. Food was very good at night and breakfast was excellent.
It was a bit away from anything so be prepared to just stay there unless you want to drive. Was not happy with kids playing football outside the windows at 11pm at night there should be a cut of time for that kind of thing.
Excellent food at the restaurant in the evening, rooms are large and bed was comfortable.
Needs a face lift, not sure if it has been decorated since 1970, the furniture is from the same time, with light switches built in to a radiogram style unit ? Shower was poor and no plug if you wanted a bath ? Fluorescent lights under pelmets are just not the in thing.
Good atmosphere and we enjoyed the quiz!
