No wifi. No mobile connection. A bit dark ages in connectivity terms.
Very good value, including dinner. Convenient for the motorway. Village associations with the Sitwells and DH Lawrence.

Let me pass on light bulbs and sockets that don't work, let me skip the disco down the corridor that ensures that one stays tucked away, let me skip on a hotel with a restaurant which is unable to russle up an egg or two because it is 9.30 pm. Let me not mention the complete lack of any phone signal in our room, nothing, only emergency calls. No, let me just talk about two issues, a hot water system where the hot tap became so hot it was untouchable, a shower that spewed out boiling water onto its customers. And let me talk about a wifi that never worked. In this hotel wifi is not available. The only wifi is so insecure that most security sittings will refuse to take you there. An open system enabling anyone to hack into your machine should you be foolish enough to venture there. In other words no wifi in this hotel, and no phone signal.

the staff were absolutely fantastic, from reception you are made extremely welcome and there charm was with everybody i met at the hotel. the food there is excellent (the chips drizzled with garlic and truffle oil are delicious) the chips and onion rings are home cooked and not frozen tasteless rubbish.the sitwell arms also has a nice vibrant bar with some wonderful characters and the beer was excellent,it will definitely be the sitwell arms the next time i go up visiting.

- window in bedroom wide opens and wouldn't shut. - carpets ripped and covered in dirt. - tiles fell off in the bathroom while I was in the shower. -TV didn't work - major refurb needed to the whole place as it's literally falling apart
- The breakfast was ok. - manager on duty was very sympathetic and helpful. Gave us a full refund for our stay here

The meal in the restaurant.

Very noisy! Non wedding guests not located away from noise of party. Charged wrong amount when arrived and had to query. Not enough staff. Couldn't find reception and then at breakfast there was no juice, no hot water and no butter. Only one person serving, it was chaos. Not sure why breakfast is served in the bar and not the restaurant - very odd! Bathroom hadn't been modernised in about 40 years. Floor and walls were dirty and toilet only flushed when it felt like it. Overall, not a good experience. Wouldn't return. There are cheaper, far better hotels in the area.

Very tired room and bathroom. Decorations and furniture were way out of date. Bed springs were prominent and I had an uncomfortable night. Table for breakfast was tiny.
It was okay for one night. However two nights or more and I woiuld have complained.
