cottage exactly as advertised. of good taste, adequately furnished. spacious and with all necessary amenities. standard old barn conversion levels of dampness apply. mitigate them with open windows (weather and stamina permitted) or devilishly sneak in your own heating. ps. word of caution - host sounds misleadingly nice during initial telephone contact and might stay so until you make your first wrong move (chances as about a spell of rain). however! do not book unless you are British or at least not from a lesser nation (I am Romanian). make sure to either put in writing or record any conversation with the host, surprising what you might have said otherwise! under no circumstance ask for heating, even if you are prepared to pay extra! do not try to impress your host with your knowledge of the area or words that are too highbrow for your level, you may be told off for using the wrong words (Italianate resort in my case)! enquire in advance about acceptable contact hours and do not ring the host when she is sat at dinner or with a friend! oh. and do make sure you drive a small car (max an A3, as ours) and posses the necessary driving skills to safely manoeuvre through very narrow long and windy path to residence where you are awarded pride of place parking in front of gate. if proper contingencies in place for all the above, i guarantee you a very pleasant stay or at least way more pleasant than ours!
