Close to the beach, Wellington Pier, the leisure centre, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach and the outer harbour, the Southern offers a choice of en suite rooms, including standard and premier rooms. A four-poster room for that special occasion is new for 2009.

All of the rooms have TVs, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and radio alarm clocks.

A full traditional cooked Norfolk breakfast is included in the price, with lighter continental options also available. All meals are freshly prepared and optional evening meals are also available at an additional cost.

Breakfast is included in the price. Guests can choose a full cooked Norfolk breakfast or enjoy a lighter continental-style cold buffet breakfast. The generous and tasty full traditional breakfast is freshly cooked to order.

A full, 3-course dinner is available at an additional cost. The varied menu changes every day to reflect the freshest seasonal ingredients available locally. The menu includes meat and fish dishes, with fresh vegetables locally sourced wherever possible.

Dinner is served at 18:00 each day; if you would like to take advantage of this option, please order before 12:00 on your day of arrival, as each meal is prepared and cooked to order. A vegetarian option can also be ordered.

Room information

All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished with your comfort in mind. There is a choice of standard and premier rooms. New for 2009, the four-poster room is great for that special occasion.

Each room has en suite facilities with a shower. A bath is available in the shared guests’ bathroom, if required.

Area information

The Southern has a wonderful, peaceful location just a few minutes' stroll away from Yarmouth’s lovely sandy beach. The Pleasure Beach, the model village and the many other attractions of the seafront are just a short walk away, as is the new Outer Harbour, opening in 2009.

Well worth a visit, the award-winning Time and Tide museum is just around the corner and offers a fascinating insight into the history of Great Yarmouth.

By Car:
From Norwich:
- Follow the A47 and continue onto the Acle New Road.
- On entering Great Yarmouth follow signs for seafront.
- Turn right at seafront and continue with the sea on your left, past Britania Pier, Marina Leisure Centre and Wellington Pier.
- When you get to The Model Village, turn right, where the road is marked All Major Routes (Kings Road).
- Kings Road becomes Queens Road, there is one hotel on Kings Road and The Southern is the one on Queens Road.
