Very friendly and hospitable hosts. Despite the plunging temperatures outside, the house was warm and welcoming. Lovely room with every amenity. Meals served in a delightful conservatory, built around an old grapevine. Spectacular breakfast, particularly the fresh fruit which was beautifully presented. In all, a memorable experience. We shall recommend the Spinney to our friends.
We could not stay for more than two days.
Very warm and friendly, would stay again
Just a little out off way
David and Jo are fantastic people who make their home a home away from home. We will always cherish our stay with them.
Nothing we can think of.....a fantastic place to stay. Thanks so much!
Lovely warm welcome , comfortable and spotless Superb breakfast choice so glad we had several days to try it all!
Not that we didnt like it but lovely private bathroom , only thing was it was approached by some steps up and down which was a bit of a worry for husband who is bit wobbly at times, but in fact was not a problem
Very comfortable bedroom and bed with high quality bedding. Peace and quiet and lovely views from bedroom of fields and trees. Nice welcome with home made cake! Breakfast choice was amazing and rivals many hotels. Host was very helpful.
We enjoyed our visit so much. Jo and David were so welcoming. We felt at home. It was the perfect stay. We will most definitely be going back...
A very well run B&B, we were made to feel welcome on arrival, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was just spot on all in all it would take some beating
Only staying 2 days.
Fabulous place - location was super with great local views, the standard of accommodation was fabulous, comfortable,, friendly and a great breakfast. We will definitely be back
We had a very good stay, and would recommend to anyone.
Great sized room Character cottage with great facilities Lovely breakfast Warm welcome
This exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated guest house made a pleasurable, relaxing and enjoyable stay in north Devon for us both. Jo and David were most informative of areas to walk and places to see and dine. The breakfast was delicious, fresh food, with the wonderful aroma daily of home baked bread and cakes filling the house. The bedroom/en-suite furnishing were modern, light and very comfortable. wonderful, delightful and quiet thoroughly recommend to all our friends and family. thank you Jo and David.
Jo & David made us feel totally at home at The Spinney. Willing to answer any questions and lots of helpful local information - especially about good pubs at which to eat!
Relaxing atmosphere in a charming period setting, my stay was peaceful and left me feeling refreshed. Usually on business I stay in a hotel or one of the larger motel chains, and this was a welcome change that was just the tonic I needed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the building itself was just "to die for". A great place to stay.
The room, hosts, breakfast!
The entrance - onto the main road.
the welcome - the genuine friendliness and helpfulness - the location - the comfort of our accommodation - our excellent breakfast in a very sunny conservatory - the ambience of the Spinney!!!
Immaculately clean; helpful, considerate owner - squeezed a mattress in our room for one night so our granddaughter could stay with us; good breakfast; quiet.
Not an ideal location - no restaurant within walking distance.
The owners were very welcoming, the location was excellent, the place was spotless, breakfast was great, room was a decent size with a very large bed. All in all this is a great place to stop if visiting North Devon.
The weather, but can't blame The Spinney for that.
lovely friendly couple, couldn't do enough for you. hotel was very homely and inviting in lovely surroundings. breakfast was great as you had lots of choice.
bed was quite uncomfortable!!
The friendliness & air of relaxation
The bed was too sot for us. I'd widen the drive entrance.
The guest house is a old style house, but the owners have made it very modern inside and is decorated beautifully and everywhere is very clean. Dave and Jo the owners made us fill very welcome and was full of information on places to visit in the area, and recommend some nice places to eat for evening meals.
Greeted with tea and fruit bread after a long journey on busy bank holiday roads. Excellent and varied breakfast Comfortable room Very friendly owners
The welcome received on arrival was exceptional and most gratefully appreciated following a disappointment encountered with a 'family' booking for a venue close by. Arriving later than intended caused by the issues encountered elsewhere were soon forgotten with how we were received at The Spinney at 8:30pm. My wife and I were both offered coffee and two large pieces of delicious sponge cake, which went down a treat after a long arduous journey! The premises externally are immaculate and situated in quiet part of this beautiful county were the 'tops'. The room and it's ensuite facilities for our overnight stay were spotlessly clean and the huge king size bed was a 'dream' of a sleep! Choice of breakfast was good and we can both vouch for the full English. Lovely homely place to stay. Absolutely no hesitation at recommending this place for a stay. I am sure we may put in another appearance when down there again.
Breakfast location and food, location, charmy atmosphere, nice view on the fields
