I njoyed my one night stay everything that I needed and comfortable.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special, something cooked would have been nice.
The room was good and comfortable and staff were pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast could have been better with greater selection with cooked items an option
Service, bed, ensuite.
Breakfast One of the most unimaginative 'Continental' breakfasts I've had. No fresh bread, processed pre-packaged everything. Weak - and it wasn't that cheap.
Friendly staff and warm welcome
Staff friendly & helpful, excellent value for quick overnight stay
Food was fantastic as always. Great friendly staff.
Room was basic but clean. Bathroom needs updating. Water runs slow but was hot.
Love the location and the actual building itself. Lots of character. Staff are wonderful....friendly, helpful and cheerful.
Bedrooms are dated, bathroom in Room 9 in serious need of upgrading.
The location of the hotel was lovely, staff were very helpful and friendly, room it's self was very pleasant. The food all very good.
The room we were in throughout the night was a continuous noise which stopped me from getting any sleep. I don't know whether this was a generator or something similar but it did not help.
Internet food privacy friendly staff
Loved it all
The room was tidy and clean ,the food was good
Breakfast was good but I would of liked a full English as well
The hotel was welcoming comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fab.
Staff (probably the manager) very welcoming when we arrived. Plenty of off-road parking. Good menu and good food for evening meal. Real ales available (and bar-staff knowledgeable and helpful). Everywhere very clean. Good nights sleep. Modern en-suite facilities. Continental breakfast included in price.
Buffet breakfast offered a wide choice of tea, coffee, fruit-juice, cereals, breads, fruit, cake, etc but was very 'continental' in that, while there was a wide selection of preserves including honey, I did regret not finding marmalade. Don't let this very minor grizzle about my not getting my accustomed breakfast-time marmalade deter you from staying at this comfortable, clean, and welcoming inn and enjoying a good night's sleep and a meal in their dining rooms.
No full English
Breakfast ... relaxed atmosphere, unhurried. Surrounding garden well keep.
Toilet seat missing in bath room. Necessary to sit or rest on while drying oneself.
Food was excellent and reasonably priced Fresh towels each day Beds were very comfortable Staff were very friendly, helpfull and welcoming
Bathroom fittings and tiles very dated but were very clean
It was just around from corner from the venue for the wedding we attended, in a quiet location, and with good car-parking.
The breakfast coffee was awful.
The staff. Chris in-particular went out of his way to help us. The meal selection during daytime and evening meals. The young staff were very good.
Nothing we could really identify.
It was close to where my son lives, as we were visiting with elderly relations.
Continental breakfast choice limited. Evening meal there was only OK.
Looks beautiful from the outside Nice area to sit outside
Room had cobwebs and dirty windowsill Toilet seat was filthy Shower took a long time to heat up and was not very powerful There was no cooked breakfast not even any meats and cheeses just toast and jam, cereals, some yoghurt, muffins and there might have been some fruit. No water, just milk, orange juice, apple juice and tea and coffee) My boyfriend asked the cleaner if he knew whether there was an iron, he went to ask a member of hotel staff and he came back to say she was busy but thinks there isn't one, our friend had used it the day before so they definitely did do and really she should have come out and spoke to us herself. At breakfast the member of staff used the bread tongs to shove some burnt bread far down in to the dirty bin, she then put it back without cleaning it, this is unhygenic.
The staff were really pleasant and friendly. Although over a big pub/restaurant the room was peaceful, and there was a decent buffet breakfast in the morning (but no bacon, egg, etc.)
The room had not been updated for many years. The 'highlight' of the decor was the white replacement toilet seat on the green toilet! Also there was a TV with no visible remote control. Plus the bathroom light stopped functioning during my short stay.
warm welcome by manager, good food, comfortable sleeping arrangements, location between Oxford and York, counrtylike atmosphere, ample parking
Welcome Attention to detail Food Location Price
Excellent food & service in the restaurant. Good value for the money.
The rooms are a bit tired & ready for a make over... The water pressure in the showers can be a bit feeble, depending which room you get...
Good nice quiet location & garden Good size car park Spacious bar area Generally clean
The bath room was a little run down
Beds were extremely comfy and room was very clean. Staff were very nice.
No air con and room we were in was next to a air vent so made going to sleep very difficult especially when having to go to work next morning. Access to plug sockets was difficult as they were hidden behind table.
