Friendly, helpful attentive staff; tasty food; very good selection of drinks; comfortable room.
It's a nightmare if you don't have a car.
ALL ...the service , the well kept cask beer...the food
Nothing that warrants a mention
Good restaurant, good value. Will stay again
The staff were very pleasant. Dinner was great. Room was clean and comfortable.
The shower was broken and very poor.
The hotel is spotless
Location, Beer, Service
Room a little dated but still comfy & good value.
Our double room was very cramped and the shower fell off the wall when I was showering and gave me a bump on the head! No cooked breakfast option and they really need to buy a new toaster as the one out for breakfast burnt the toast on one side whilst the other side was not cooked!
The staff were all very friendly
The shower unit was very poor. No cooked breakfast available.
Lovely new clean towels daily. very nice staff and general atmosphere. Good selection for the cold breakfast. Plenty of tea and coffee.Certainly good value at the price. Would stay again.
Avocado colour bathroom! Lack of cooked breakfast option. No marmalade for breakfast.
Staff extremely friendly oldy worldy atmosphere exelent food comfortanle bedroom
Very clean room, with all usual facilities. Dinner taken in pub most enjoyable. Friendly, efficient staff.
Continental breakfast a bit sparse, could have done with a hot offering; however for price of accommodation, no complaints
If you're wanting accomodation for woodborough hall this is only five mins away.
Dirty rooms, dated decor, uncomfortable bed, squeaky floors.
comfortable cosy atmosphere.
No sports shown in bar what so ever. Asked why we wanted a taxi when we asked the staff member to call one, think he was called chris who seemed like he was in charge of the junior staff.
Great, all round comfort.
Good food drink and clean
Woken up by rodents in loft.very noises not a good nights sleep. Needs updating on whole of room.
Bar and restaurant area very nice and a friendly welcome by the gentleman on duty.
The room was not very clean. A mop and bucket with dirty water was found in the WC. Mattress was uncomfortable. Bathroom door did not fit properly. Shower head could not be adjusted properly. Quality of breakfast very poor.
The staff welcome was warm & positive, though hard to find an available member of staff on arriva which left me standing by the bar for 5 minutes or so & what vaguely looked like staff there just walking by me,despite my clearly looking lostl!
The room was adequate I guess, just though.Dirty marks on the walls around the room which needed decorating & brightening up.The heating for the whole room relied on a small electric wall heater just inside the entrance door so by not sufficiently placed to warm the whole room at all.The windows are old/dated & didn't appear to be double glazed either.Overnight the room became very cold, even with the electric heater left on all night,& over breakfast I could clearly hear other guests discussing this with one another saying they had hardly slept as the room was so cold, which sadly was true & really not on! The breakfast was poor too,so called 'Continental' so barely adequate to start your day off or to warm you up,especially in Winter, for the price per person for rooms of this very average standard I'd have expected at least a full English cooked breakfast, not a mixed bag table of basic standard fayre that you're expected to prepare yourself fully! So the whole stay, particularly hearing so many other guests complaining about the cold rooms so not having slept at all,was not a good one at all & the totally different standards to the exclusive looking plush bar/restaurant et al which greets you downstairs in the main body of the Inn really is like chalk & cheese suggesting that the sleep-in accommodation is nothing more than a last minute add-on to make a fast buck for the owners! On the corridors of the mazelike layout upstairs too, where your rooms are situated, there were mops & buckets just left standing by the wall, not a cleaner in sight,Health & Safety? Plus,as I entered for breakfast in the morning,it's not good at all to be greeted by a length of cable running across the floor as the morning cleaner was doing the hoovering, despite this being breakfast time for the paying guests,as if we were simply invisible!
Evening food and service excellent...
Not enough basic food at breakfast...bread for toast, marmalade...etc.....but worse of all was the pillows on bed, very hard and uncomfortable...this view was shared by the people we were with
small room, noisy, breakfast poor, ensuite a joke
Our first visit, and liked it so much we definitely will return. Food and service was excellent.
Good wholesome food available in the very friendly restaurant
Bedroom a bit small & bathroom both small & dated
Good value for money and food good. Breakfast fresh and good choice.
Good prices. Good location near to Nottingham but in countryside. Good quality television in bedroom. Separate key fob to allow access to rooms so felt secure.
Very musty bathroom. Very slow service in restaurant - 40 minute wait for two meals.
The restaurant and bar staff very good but can't say the same about cleaning of rooms.
Room not serviced on one of the nights we stopped - had to ask for towels. Buffett breakfast very poor choice - juice and coffee not replaced - if down after 9.00 am nothing much left to choose from. On last morning had an early start - no hot water and the breakfast Tray they said would be provided didn't appear.
