Delightful family ownership who were totally accomodating and helpful.Room very comforable.Breakfasts excellent.

Close to Alnwick, very pretty countryside, near National Trust estate and national parks. Recommendation for the restaurant nearby was good. Bakery next door was excellent. Breakfast was a typical English breakfast.

Slightly higher priced than I expected for such a small town in the middle of the country. Waste water pump in the bathroom was unique, a bit loud at times, but I like that they are trying to reduce water waste. No mention of that in the listing, but they did mention it in the arrival book so we knew what the noise was.

Good location , friendly helpful staff , Good value , clean, good size bedroom and adequate cooked breakfast . Ideal for one or two nights.

Only negative was the Sani flow system in the ensuite was very noisy

No one there to greet guests. Note left in front door asking us to phone owner and to use telephone in hall. This phone did not work had to use my own mobile. Told we were in room 1 and key was in door. We were not issued with front door key so assume this was left open all night. Room big enough but ensuite very small, marks on one wall, only issued with 2 towels - no hand towels. Beds hard, bedding not ironed. No water on hospitality tray. Had to pay by cash, had to request receipt. No registration of our visit requested.

We were made very welcome and our small dog was welcome too. Large clean rooms in old traditional house although the hotel was full there was no noise from adjoining rooms. Handy for the pub nextdoor with nice meals. Breakfast freshly cooked to order with good choice.

Personal choice would be firmer mattress and pillows

We had a very comfortable room and the breakfast was good and freshly prepared. We were settled in on arrival by the very friendly owner offering excellent advice about our short break plans.

This guest house was superb - probably one of the nicest I have ever used. The staff were helpful, friendly and totally committed to looking after us. It was perfect!

Danielle is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are big and the bed and bedding is very good. Breakfast is very good and cooked fresh to order. Great location for exploring the area

We were in room One the bathroom is a cupboard and nothing like the pictures there is very little space between the sink and the shower cubicle to get to the toilet, and little space to sit let alone stand! saniflo system is noisy. Your day will start at 6.30 as the people that do breakfast are very loud talkers!

Our room number one was near the entrance and dining room.We were awake from 6.40 am because of other guests going for breakfast.If you want to sleep in avoid rooms one and two!

Rooms were spacious with separate seating areas and en-suite shower or bathrooms. Comfortable and informal. Good breakfast.

Our stay at the Springfield was very enjoyable. I would stay there again the next time I am in the North East. An Excellent place to stay.

Room looked lovely on arrival (when we finally knew which one it was) Breakfast was ok (full English) although was not given a menu so not aware of other foods on offer Good shower (again a problem as not able to reach controls due to shower screen which was stuck) luckily my partner is tall with long arms Good info pack re facilities in area Good sized TV Free WI FI available

Lots of dust on walls Mould on the blinds Mould behind the shutters of the window GOOD JOB NEITHER OF US WAS ASTHMATIC Nobody to greet you (thought when we had to ring the owners that their excuse appeared to be genuine) until we heard the guests staying the following day trying to find owners and their rooms as we did the day before (noisy room). Noticed this in reviews, but thought perhaps previous guest reviews too picky however, appears to be a reacurring issue re someone to greet and book you in Check in too late ie 4.00pm Check out too early ie 10.00am No advice re times of breakfast BIG BUG BEAR (may not have been so quick to notice numerous other faults) for me was tiny bath towels and only one hand towel. As a female (and am sure most females will agree) a good size bath towel and smaller towel per guest makes for a more comfortable stay Heating only seemed to come on later in the evening so was cold in room during day Sadly would not stay there again however, found Rothbury and surrounding areas lovely and would definitely visit area again

They were very friendly - the breakfast was lovely and as much as you wanted - the room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable
