I loved the views from the balcony and waking up in the morning to look out on seascapes. The restaurant, although rather pricy, was excellent, the beef being particularly good and the service lovely. The spar was such a treat and the gym's location fantastic for viewing the Bay. Being so close to Cardiff Bay was brilliant. Overall, I would definately stay again if I could again get a special rate, as the usual rates are somewhat out of my price bracket. There is nothing to complain about, it was lovely!

The location was very good, views of the harbour and bay excellent. Despite having a balcony on a warm, sunny weekend, the hotel were unable to provide table and chairs so we could sit out and enjoy the weather and the view. Having travelled extensively, I do not feel the hotel was 5 star, nor would I have classed the room as 'deluxe'.

the parking was only £5.00 for 24 hours. The breakfast was excellent. The location was super. The hotel bed was very large and spacious for a married couple. There was no remote control for the TV and even asked for one to be brought to the room it never arived after one hour. i had to go to reception for one. The bathroom need a llitle attention for 5 star ...it was tired and dangerous in the fact that the safty rail in the bath as you stepped out was broken and came off in my hand. obviously not good if your more mature or infirm. !!!! Having reported it the receptionist did not write the details down or make a note on the computer,,,,so how many other people had reported it. We stay at the Crowne Plaza mostly and this was not a patch on the level of service or standards of that chain.I was very dissappointed.

An excellent visit, good hotel with competent, friendly staff. I was annoyed at having to pay for car parking. At a Hotel of this class (and expense) I would not expect to pay to park my car during my visit.

Big comfy beds Most of the staff let this hotel down. A surely and almost rude check-in, being chased across the lobby by a bar man because of a lack of communication on their part. 5 star should be about luxury, and on this occassion that was lacking

The location and surroundings were ideal. Loved the fact that the bars and restrants were in walking distance from the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel the hotel carpark stated it was full. We waited for the conceriage to direct us. That never happened so we parked on double yellow lines and went into the hotel to be asked. I was not greated on arrival and whilst the the receptionist was dealing with my quirey she took a phone call and left me waiting. Due to unforeseen circumstances there seemed to be technical problems and the fire alarm was activated and kept going off well into the early hours of the morning. The breakfast layout was badly designed having to place your plate on the couter and lift individual serving trays to be able to serve food. On the whole the building design is modern and minimal however I feel that maintenance of the building is lacking. The tiles in my room were cracked. The sauna area you could see rust on the Walls and electrical wires. When checking out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay. Didnt feel that this hotel could be classed as 5 star. I have stayed in the hilton Cardiff and felt that this was a much nicer hotel. Glad I shopped for a bargain as I would not want to pay full price.

Very good location and excellent decor Breakfast was a real let down. We were taken to a table asked if we knew how the buffet worked and then when we said yes, we had trouble attracting anyone's attention. We'd ordered coffee and toast but neither came until we reminded the waitress well into our breakfast. I wanted eggs benedict and salmon but was not given the opportunity to ask for it, so had a cooked breakfast instead. This was a real pity as up to this point we had really enjoyed our stay but unfortunately our lasting impression of the hotel was a poorly served breakfast.

Nice room, attentive staff. Great singer in the bar on Friday evening shame nothing on the Saturday evening. Excellent breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings in particular, nicely cooked Smoked Haddock. Monday morning not quite as good but probably due to less people and therefore not the turnover, but was still okay. We didn't have time to try the Spa, maybe next time. Wales football squad were at the hotel same weekend for the Norway game and accounted for themselves well too! A little disappointed that at the price for the rooms there was no free hotel parking for guests included.

Great location, rooms were quite spacious and clean , the beds were so so comfortable, with lovely white bedlinnen. Great views from balcony of the bay. I choose this hotel because it had a swimming pool as we like to swim first thing, but was dissappointed to find that swimming times were restricted for children, to times mid day and late afternoon, when we were out and about, so were unable to use this facility. Staff were friendly, did not eat here so not able to comment on the food. I wish the web site had details of the swimming restriction, I would probably have choosen a different hotel.

The fact that our stay was a gift made the stay acceptable. The Hotel, although rated as 5 star was only average in quality in my opinion. The location was fine on the edge of the water but at least 40mins walk to the town center. The hotel was very modern with the minimum appart from the spa. We arrived mid afternoon but there was no catering available. I would expect a coffee shop or something similar to be available in an hotel which claimed to be 5 star. We had a discounted room which was probably fair value. Full cost rooms, in my opinion would be grossly over priced.

Spaciousness - we were able to negotiate round with grandson's buggy very easily. Lovely suite -we had an unexpected upgrade which was delightful.. Great to be able to take grandson in the pool. Views were magnificent both from the room and the Atrium. Staff were very helpful and efficient. Identifying which light switch was rather challenging late at night - switch for wall light in the bedroom was in the main room - took me about 15 mins to work it out! We were not familiar with the card in slot for activating lighting so had to ask - perhaps we should get out more!

Spa facilities were great and room was perfect !! No info for anything in room. Could not find way to spa and would have liked to have a treatmeats price list / restaurant menu in the room. I would have considered having treatment if the information had been available. A general welcome book would have been helpful too to orientate us.

Having lived and worked in Cardiff for many years and used the hotel since its opening for lunches and dinners, I always wanted to spend a couple of nights there, and my decision to stay while I was attending a wedding in the City was a perfect choice as I was completely relaxed and it was a change from staying in one of the City Centre hotels.

View. Do not think it deserves five stars. One of the elevators was out of service all weekend...one room key is no good for charging gadgets as the power goes off when you leave the room. Lingerie left behind from previous guests.... Should of been found by the cleaners. Exterior of the building could do with a good paint... Looking a bit shabby/rusty for a five star. Do yourself a favour and stay in the city.
