The view from the room was superb. Reception staff were extremely helpful.
Even though we got upgraded to a junior suite for our one night stay this was very disappointing for a 5* hotel, especially the bathroom. This was not too clean and looked in need of updating. No hairdryer available although supposed to be. Derive in the restaurant was a little on the slow side + due to a theatre booking we had to cancel part of our order.
Room and bathroom looking a little tired compared to our stay a couple of years ago. Curtains badly in need of replacing and a few broken tiles on bathroom floor. Also, bathroom door would not close properly. If we had been staying more than one night we would have pointed this out.
Such a nice hotel, get what you pay for
very clean and comfortable. And were upgraded at no cost.
paying £15 for parking
Stayed for one night in December it was lovely stayed in room 601 and had a great view as it was on the corner of the hotel. Very nice room and there is a lovely furry womble blanket in the cupboard which I wanted to take home! Would definitely go again
Views of the bay are great, spa and pool are excellent.
Pool water temperature was too cold. Parking charges are now too high at £15.00 per night.
Hotel, location, room, views, spa, staff all exceptional and wonderful setting
Pool area etc needs work, mounds of sand in the jacuzzi and water temperature was freezing
Bed is always very comfortable and rooms are usually spacious. Views of the bay are excellent.
The Hotel car park is very small and is expensive. Stair access is via the spa and is closed off at night.
It was amazing there staff were wonderful
It was freezing in our room did report it the man from the desk came up and said he would send maintenance up but never seen anybody did tell the lady when we checked out she said sorry but that's not good enough
The lady that greeted us at reception, on checking in was lovely.
We were told our room had been upgraded but what a let down. Yes we had a balcony but the room is nowhere near 5*! Shabby, worn furniture and carpet just didn't scream 5* to us at all. Other big downside, we were told where we had to sit sit for breakfast, and, as lovely as the sunshine was streaming through the windows (and as trivial as this may sound), when i asked if we could move because it was too bright to keep my eyes open, this seemed like a massive effort! Didn't help that other guests waltzed in after us, had a bit of 'banter' with staff and then sat where they wanted! At £200 for what was basically bed and breakfast, we will definitely stick to the Celtic Manor from now on.
I was upgraded to a junior sweet and it was amazing, next time I will pay a bit more and book one
Nothing not to like
Friendly, helpful staff.
Swimming pool was cold.
Nice room, plenty space. Stunning views of the bay
Arrived to room at 11pm and Heating didnt work. Advised to leave it on for a while. At 1am, reception offered to change rooms, but considering the time this was not an option.
The views from the room were exceptional, and the food was excellent. Also had a free upgrade which was appreciated.
The bathroom tiles had fallen off and been replaced to a very low standard. Had to wait a long time for our food and 20 minutes for wine, by which time our taxi had arrived to take us out for the evening.
We liked the spacious bedroom, the excellent restaurant, the breakfast and the great spa facilities. The staff was always smiling and welcoming. The location close to the bay and its restaurant is also nice
The orange juice at the relaxion room (but it's a detail...).
Staff were exceptionally helpful. The room was very nice and the bed extremely comfortable
Great night again at St David's hotel and spa this time we took our 6month old baby and everyone was really helpful, nice and accommodating.
The cleanliness of the room, the friendliness of the staff, the view was superb and the location was excellent too. The spa was a relaxing treat!
I have stayed in better 3 star hotels. Room was cold, had no fridge and decor was dated and well worn, not the standard I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Service at breakfast was poor.
Newly refurbished immaculate room Location-walk out to great bars & restaurants Staff-very friendly and helpful
Car park-limited in size and £15 per day Spa very busy and members moaning loudly about the number of hotel guests which didn't make for a relaxing stay
Had a lovely stay for our anniversary made to feel very welcome see you next year
I love the hotel esp over looking the water so relaxing, clean and tidy nice tea coffee at the room,
Nothing at all, nice to relax after a busy long day! See you soon.
Friendly and welcoming reception staff.
I have stayed at other 5 star hotels that have been more memorable and deserving of the rating. Hotel room seemed in need of some refurbishment, in my opinion.
All of it
