We stayed same time last year and I must say the food has really gone down hill we told one of the waiting staff and she didn't seam to care
Location and outlook
We loved staying here can't wait to go back
The hotel gave us complementry sparkling wine and cakes for my wifes bday, the facilitys was fantastic, and the staff was always on hand if there was any problems. Would highly reccommend for a romantic weekend away, or some where to relax.
The only problem i had was i thought the shower could of been cleaner, as there was mould in the shower and on the floor.
Quality of room, breakfast buffet quality, preparations by staff for child cot etc.
The timings of child access to the pool. The only permitted times are lunch time and dinner time!
The view was fantastic through the windows and balcony. Bed was very comfy.
To me it was a little tired and run down for a master suite. And my wife found it very dusty.
location and views
the room was very basic, airless, no warm or traditional décor bathroom was dated, very basic welcome tray
How friendly and helpful all the staff are. The food was exceptional in the hotel restaurant. Close to other cafés and venues looking over the bay. Fantastic shopping in Cardiff and very easy to find all the different shops.
Room Quality and size. Friendly staff
Parking is limited
Brilliant view of bay from room and very comfy bed. The spa with views over bay was great too. Fab sunset from the room.
The concierge parking just stressed me. The bay was chocker with cars and even the hotel car park. I prefer to park my car take my valuable (3 bags) myself to my room and return to the same parking bay and drive off. My car got double parked and in the morning they got my keys mixed up and brought me someone elses car.
The service, the location and the ambience
A Little expensive
We have stayed here many times .. Love the location facilities all fab
The location was fantastic
The decor, the hospitality tray was half done! The aircon didn't work.
Location, comfy beds, lovely bar area.
Carpet in the room wasn't the best all stained. Maybe something to sit on while out on the balcony.
Very friendly staff, view from room fantastic.
No parking available. Room decor tired, ripped and stained curtains, stains on carpet, large crack in basin. I wouldn't pay this much again for a room of this standard.
The hotel staff and facilities was second to none
the location was excellent and the room pleasant and clean- breakfast was expensive and rather unimaginative
the spa was dated and needs a facelift so disappointing-rather scruffy
The views from St. David's are incomparable in Cardiff, and the staff were very hospitable and helpful. Definitely 5-star service.
Many services not complimentary, the hotel overall is dingy and more like a 3-star facility, carpets need shampooing, beds need updating, my toilet didn't flush well, TV channels don't switch easily, etc. Food was only average and quite expensive.
Comfortable bed, good breakfast.
Room a bit shabby in parts, balcony a bit grubby. Problem in bathroom, bath plug had become disconnected, very dirty, maintenance arrived within 30 minutes to fix and did offer to call to have bath cleaned again. Though the problem was quickly rectified its not what you expect from a 5 star hotel.
Good value for a 5* hotel. Generally very helpful staff. Very good spa. Great views esp. upper floors.
Looking it's age.Not up to 5* standard. No doubt a refurb will be coming and rates will go up.
Leaving the following morning.
A guest was screaming frantically and crying for about 20 mins in the middle of the night, why security didn't take her away from reception I do not know. Apparently she was very drunk & uncontrollable. She woke the entire hotel up who were all looking over the reception foyer to see what was going on. No official apologies from the hotel therefore I would NOT go to this hotel again as I have had a better nights sleep in a Premier Inn. Awful customer service on their part. Beware of the decked balcony's don't feel safe at all, felt like it was moving soon as I stepped on so quickly went back in the room and didn't go out there again! VERY DISSAPOINTING FOR A 5 STAR HOTEL. Also returning from the hotel at night is scary as no lights on the way there very dark in the streets leading to hotel.
great views from the rooms. excellent staff and customer service. wonderfully relaxing location is excellent for visiting the many restaurants and venues of Cardiff bay.
prices tend to be on the high side
The location and staff were great. Breakfast in the morning was also fab
Having to pay for WiFi at a 5 star hotel
The spa, the rooms we're fantastic with a lovely view of the bay
The champagne wasn't in the room when we got there we had to wait a little while
