Staff were very friendly and attentive, classy hotel and gives you an air of feeling 'a class above'. Fabulous views and location on the bay. Food presentation immaculate.

Some parts of the hotel are in need of a bit of a refresh - it kind of takes the shine off the 5* accommodation. Having to pay for parking in a public car park should be sorted, a classy hotel ought to have free residents parking for all.

We go to St David's Hotel a couple of times a year as a luxurious treat. It has the best spa we have come across and the standards at the hotel are always very high. Location is excellent with fab views overlooking Cardiff Bay and many attractions a short walk away.

It's a bit pricey but great as a special treat.

Awful breakfast. The whole breakfast had been warmed up. Could not eat it. One greasy mushroom,one sausage,bacon like soggy cardboard. Tinned peaches, tinned pears and prunes. Only fresh fruit was water melon. Come on, theres plenty of fresh fruit about e.g. pears, bananas,apples,strawberries to name a few. Would not risk having a meal here again.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and relaxed. We have stayed at 5 star hotels in the past and were made to feel inferior as we are not rich or upper class and save hard for our holidays. This was the first time we had not felt inferior and that made such a difference and makes us feel we will go back again in the future,

The cabaret singing was too loud and could be heard in our bedroom on the fifth floor

Love the situation and the views - at the heart of things but away from the hustle and bustle that can get a bit much in other parts of Cardiff! A real haven!

As with most hotels in this country the door to the room could easily be so much better noise proofed if it closed against a well fitting frame all round rather than having a gap under the door. As you may detect, we like peace and quiet in a hotel!

The room was to hot and the air condotioning blew out hot air. We felt because we had booked the room through an agency and had it cheaper we were not treated as other customers who had paid the full amount. We were made to wait forour room as it had not been inspected and this was at 4.20pmwhen the room should have been ready for 3pm.

The spa was very clean. The room comfortable and clean. The view from the room was excellent. It is an excellent location

The staff were not as well-trained as you'd expect in a hotel of that class. You often seem to have to wait a long time for a telephone call to be answered. It was rather noisy at times from wedding guests etc due to the building design The pool is rather small and only accommodates six serious swimmers at a time. There were a lot of little things it would have been nice to know at the beginning, like where the gowns and slippers were, and the breakfast was cheaper if you ordered it the night before.

We liked everything about this hotel. The accomodation was extremely comfortable, the staff could not have been more helpful, the breakfast is superb. There are also design features which have been thoughtfully incorporated e.g. 2 lifts side by side from the lobby to the rooms which negates the need to wait and the separate lift which takes guests straight down to the spa area is a particularly nice touch. We could not fault anything about this excellent hotel and we both had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Many thanks!

Good position on Cardiff bay, in walking distance to all resturants, pubs, comedy club etc. lovely breakfast. Friendly approachable staff.

Staying at the hotel was a treat. The view the environment and the surrounding . Magnificent. We had a Great time. Everything was perfect. The staff, the breakfast, the restaurant and the bar, all was up to the standards. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again when i am travelling to Cardiff.

The spa facilities and fact you could get to the spa through separate lifts from rooms. Location and facilities excellent too.

Our room was very hot at night and air conditioning wasnt working in room so we had to ask for a fan in the early hours of the morning as we couldn't safely leave balcony door open.

In 2 areas light bulbs out and the inconsistency with Halogen and L.E.D light bulbs in Pool area. (this is really a minor element) Other than that the St Davids is Amazing.

Well where do I start its not a five star hotel anymore needs decorating throughout spa has rust in the poolside not good at all breakfast used to be so nice as stayed before but now not a buffet breakfast it's plated and tastes terrible hotel p,ease get a grip and make it a five star hotel if looking for a five star hotel in South Wales go to Newport
