Our room was spacious and well-equipped. There was a large range of excellent food to suit all budgets. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Good location facilities and food, let down by uncomfortable pillows.
The Stag is beautifully decorated with plenty of atmosphere. The room was delightful - like a little cottage and very comfortable. The food was very good.
We couldn't turn the radiator down or off in our bedroom so we got a bit hot. At breakfast there was only one person serving and so our toast arrived after we'd eaten our scrambled egg and salmon - we would have liked them together.
The location was great and overall it was a nice place.
The shower was very basic and I ended up with a cold shower because the hot water ran out. One of the wall tiles was badly cracked. The double bed was just to singles pushed together.
Can't say it was impressive but the room was OK. Very noisy shower fan, room dated and smelt damp (despite the room fresheners). Room was a courtyard one.
Lovely staff , going back next year for a long weekend. Very impressed
Nothing not to like
The staff were very accomodating and brought food from the restaurant to our room even though they were busy
It's history and comfort and food
Every thing about the place. A wonderful place to stay.
Very nice hotel, food very good, breakfast excellent with a variety of dishes, staff friendly and courteous, all in all excellent value for money
Couldn't get shower to work !!
The welcome was very friendly, and room was a good size.
The food was expensive and not worthy of price. The room was very cold, and very noisy, with the traffic, and the music from the lounge area. Music stopped at 1am and started at 7am!!
Lovely big room with leather sofa and large LG TV. Comfortable bed. Room in stable block, quirky shape with loads of character. Great breakfast, plenty of choice. Convenient for Stratford and much better value
Thought close proximity to busy road would be disturbing but cleverly designed double glazing helped reduce the noise to a minimum. View of the road not the best though.
Beautiful room, excellent breakfast, pleasant staff.
Excellent Breakfast Excellent Room and bed
Foreign beers No John Smiths or Tetleys
the bed comfortable
cheeseboard with mouldy grapes toilet difficult to flush room not cleaned well breakfast not served till 8 on sat not told sausagesruined by previous overcooking probably days before not a patch pubs previous tenants.is this representative of old English inns
A perfect place to for an over night stay before our journey to Cornwall owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was gorgeous room was more than we expected
The main road is a little noisy it did not bother us but I could imagine a light sleeper would have problems
The restaurant was convenient to use and there was a voucher in the room for a bottle of wine for £10. Our room was facing onto the main road but as long as you kept the windows closed there was no noise issue.
The service was slow in the restaurant and when the meal arrived it wasn't hot. The table we were given was in a dark area with no option of additional lighting.
Nice ambience and layout, a friendly feel
Food not too good, though it was reasonably priced. Room was great size but way too hot and very noisy from downstairs
Very comfy bed, I slept very well.
Breakfast was terrible! tasteless scrambled egg and wierd tasting smoked salmon. No bulb in one of the lamps in the bedroom.
Fantastic accommodation outside courtyard, friendly staff, great food, ideal for visiting Stratford, overall couldn't find any faults, highly recommended
Lovely place lovely staff. Had a small problem but was sorted speedily. Would recommend.
It is on a busy road but didn't bother us
Aside from our now issues with the management of the inn, all the bar and waiting staff were friendly, helpful and competent.
We found maintenance issues with our room on the first day we stayed, which we pointed out and weren't rectified. The door to our room was close to coming off and the lock on the bathroom was broken. The second morning, the heavy headboard fell from above the bed, onto where our 2yr old son had been sleeping. In reporting for this to be rectified, we were accused of carrying out the damage ourselves by a very rude and simply poor manageress. We are taking this up with higher management to try and conclude the matter. The road noise is appalling at this inn- lorries are very noisy all the time, though the night, then from 5am, the road is extremely busy.
Food great. Staff went above and beyond to make stay wonderful. Will definitely be staying there again in the future
No cover for outside smoking
Absolutely loved our stay here. Fantastic value for money, staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Rooms were amazing. Food and service were excellent. Will definatly be going back there again. Loved it.
That I couldn't stay there longer.
Everything good except location
Road Noise - hotel on A46 - no I mean literally a couple of car lengths
