Score from 340 reviews Very good
Everything. From the carpet so dirty you were afraid to take your shoes off, to the toilet with no seat, and everything in between, the place was just awful. When we arrived, a couple leaving passed us and said if we had anywhere else to stay we shouldn't book in. We wished we had taken their advice.
Nothing will not be going back here
Carpet and furniture stained, Mattress had the springs sticking out, far too hot and a constant unpleasant smell
Good location, good room with plenty of space.
The checkout time. It was far to early
Breakfast was good
Cleanliness of towels. Minimal amount of toilet roll. Underbed drawers broken.
It was filthy!! 1st room still had empty old milk and sugar packets in the draw!! No towels and everthing you touched was dirty!! 2nd room wasn't much better!! At night there were people running about and shouting in the hotel at 3am...breakfast was awful apart from the toast which you had to do yourself!! And the staff well there's no words to describe them..the reception area was filthy couldn't wait to leave and certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone..so please don't waste your money...
Bed too old abd springy to sleep on. Dirty room. Smelly small towels. No hairdryer said. Cold shower. Smelled. Noisy street that you could hear all night as windows were so old. Sheets of broken glass in corridoor. Breakfast not up to much either. So couldnt sleep. Couldnt get showered and clean. Couldnt eat breakfast so might aswell of slept in the car.
The television in the family room did not have a 13amp plug but was wired in behind the wall socket direct to the live mains and it was live at all times and it could not be isolated. The curtains finishes 18 inches above the window sills so one could not get dressed in the room as there was no privacy from the outside. There was a left over McDonalds left in the room on the radiator. We were allocated a replacement room and when my Daughter went to the toilet and locked the door it would not unlock again and a member of staff had to kick the door in. The cups in the room was thick with dried in sugar and unwashed. the single bed was broken and the dust and cobwebs stood out above everything. In the double room the toilet stank of paraffin, and when I put the face cloth and soap in the sink there was no room for water and again the whole place was filthy dirty. there was no toilet rolls and no towels. Nottinghamshire Fire Service should revoke the Hotels fire certificate with immediate effect, the hotel should be shut down. My Advice is stay well clear. We didn't even get an apology or an offer of a partial refund.
Staff was alright and breakfast was ok given the number of guests in the hotel.
The structure of building is really old and lots of stairs. Rooms are significantly small and wierd placements of TV and other furniture. Given all this I think £40 a night is way to high. Also the location is far from city centre and it costs £6 to get there in a cab from city centre. I would not be staying here again!
The staff were friendly and had a chat with you
Only one pillow in my bed
location + free parking
room facility was poor - TV has only half screen to watch, 1/3 power point not working. Window facing the road can't be closed completely resulting noisy sleeping environment. Overall not value for money.
The only good thing about this hotel was the guy behind the counter who checked is in. He was very friendly and tried his best to find us a quiet room
There was a wedding until 1 am that was so loud. The fire alarm went off at 6 am, the room was dirty, the shower didn't work, or room only had single beds and breakfast was non existent! There were no staff to serve us and we had to sort it out ourselves!
From walking into the entrance it was a pleasant looking hotel.
The room wasnt at its best with marks all over the walls. The windows didnt shut properly so the noise outside kefpt us awake all night. Shower too small. Breakfast was poor, sausages tasted rubbery as though they were reheated.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The loo in the room wasn't working properly when I first arrived, it didn't flush at all. Having said that, this was rectified later when I reported it to a member of staff Neither of the 'above' bed reading lights worked, and the room itself was just a bit grubby, e.g. stains on chairs, ripped duvet, cracked walls, etc. Oh, and the fire alarm going off at 6.30ish in the morning didn't help, although I appreciate this probably was the fault of the staff
-They seem to have improved from the awful comments from earlier, not half as bad as the reviews i read prior to staying. -Breakfast option is Fair enough, should boost your mood.
-Staff could be more uptight
Breakfast was good and staff were nice.
Bed mattresses were awful, every spring was protruding, shower was cold and the windows didn't keep the outside noise out.
Filthy room. Overpowering smell of smoke. Had to ask for towels and toilet roll.
The staff were really helpful, as I had bad tooth problems after an extraction, they did all they could to help.
The hotel was unclean, they need new carpets and a luck of paint.

The girls in reception pleasant. Not sure if they were perhaps polish. Very sweet
Nothing else. Supposed to be TV and internet in rooms, neither working. TV worked intermittently. On for 5mins and then off for 5mins. Impossible to watch any programme. No signal!! Bed most uncomfortable never before spent a night purely on springs. Not a mattress at all just springs with a light covering. No sleep here got up feeling like I had been kicked by a horse! Towel small , no plug in basin and a cold shower so absolutely nothing was good. I realise £37.00 a night is ver cheap so not expecting 5star, but was not expecting this type of stay.
What let this hotel down for me more than anything else was its attention to detail, my room was small and pokey, the was paper thin. This didn't really worry me as I only. Wanted somewhere to sleep, but it was advertised as having wi-fi and tea / coffee facilities, neither of which were present! No signal in the first case and no kettle in the second. The was paint peeling from the walls a general air of decay about the place. Could be been great, was lucky to get ok.
Good location Big rooms
Not enough mirrors!! Cold shower Needs modernising
Drab reception Threadbare carpet Peeling paintwork No bathroom mirror No hot water for shower No VAT invoice Generally run down
