Food, position of Inn, charm and comfort.
Beautiful bedroom, very large comfortable bed. Food was delicious with a choice of good real ales on tap. Was staying on business, would happily stay here on pleasure. Cookies and brownie left in the room were a nice touch.
We only stayed a night, we had a lovely room, a very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and a powerful shower.Nice breakfast The pub was friendly and lively but no noise was heard in our room - great soundproofing
Throughly enjoyed it, couldn't fault anything.
Location nice Staff friendly Room nice recent refurb Nice atmosphere in the bar Restaurant and food nice
Bathroom needed a towel rail at the end of the bath to make it easier to access a towel following a shower. It would save traipsing water over the floor. Bathroom clouded glass door means anyone using the toilet in the night will light up the whole room if they switch the bathroom light on. Roadside parking only
Rooms are well laid out and comfortable food very good.
Need to read carefully some rooms have shared bathroom but it is made clear.
The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the room was warm. The food in the resteraunts was delicious.
The choice of pastries etc for the continental breakfast was limited.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff from the moment we arrived until we checked out. The Inn itself is a gem and very comfortable and the food was excellent.
There was nothing I didn't like.
We were expecging a different room with a nicer bath
Very well designed room where you can control the temperature yourself, even open the sash window. This is a lovely old inn modernised as a restaurant with rooms, rather than a hotel, so don't expect a reception desk or room service (personally I prefer to be independent). Despite the smart dining room below, the rooms are very quiet, as is the pretty village green. A jar of home baked biscuits and brownies was a nice touch. Breakfast nice and simple (help yourself to ham, cheese, croissant, make own toast).
Staff are genuine and friendly but maybe need to pay a bit more attention to guests so that they feel less of an adjunct to the main business of bar/restaurant.

Everything Booked to stay while at equestrian event as a local, easy accommodation for my sister mam and myself What a surprise - just lovely Fantastic in every way - total delight and an extra highlight to a great trip away - highly recommended - will be back if in the area
the food was excellent in quality. the newly re-furbished rooms have been done to a high standard. staff who booked me in were excellent, as were the staff with my follow-up enquiries. the location was great for me as I was working in the area.
the waiting on staff not to the same standard as the rest of the staff (this lets the team down). poor mobile phone coverage in the village. restaurant is expensive. card reader not working on booking out and had to leave hard copy of card details to process the payment, no receipt for my expenses although this was resolved later by Siobhan via e-mail. despite a few negatives I'll stay again!

Very Clean Rooms and great staff
I could not fault any aspect of my stay at the Star Inn. The room and bathroom were first class and the meal and refreshment was very good. The continental breakfast was everything one could hope for. I will most certainly go back.
Olde country inn feeling but very clean and quality finish in all areas, comfortable with a really welcoming bar and restaurant. Worth a visit for the food on its own! Staff were obviously busy at times as it's so popular but always helpful and friendly.
Can't complain about a thing!
The Star Inn was in a lovely village situation and the ambiance is perfect. The food in the restaurant was first class and as it was so busy they have obviously earned the title of a destination eatery. Room was exceptionally comfortable and staff were most helpful. It isn't very far from Leicester but you do need a car, although we did use a local taxi which was very reasonable.
Only that it was difficult to get a good service on Wi-Fi which was important to us as we have to keep on top of our business emails even when we are away, but we do not blame the Star Inn as it is situated in a country village and not always the best of places to gain a signal.
Poor mobile signal
Great place, very very nice rooms, could not fault it. Looked as though they had just been redone but apparently was done some years ago. You would never know. We also had to cancel one night as we had an appointment cancelled and the staff were very friendly and helpful in doing this. Had a great evening in the bar with a pub quiz that kept us amused in the evening. All in all, great. Would highly recommend.
Friendly & efficient staff. Clean comfortable room. Excellent food & ale. Nice country pub atmosphere with friendly locals.
No batteries in TV remote control.
