Low cost, friendly staff I found this hotel on booking.com, but in fact it is not really a hotel but a slightly down at heel village pub with some modern rooms built in the car park at the back. The bar was very ordinary with TV/football on loud. The food was not at all special but cheap. But the staff and locals were very friendly. The rooms were clean and adequate but the hot water system was a bit pathetic - a feeble direct heater for hot tap in the sink. Like everything in life you get what you pay for. Absolutely fine if you are on a budget but as I am lucky enough for the client to pay I will find somewhere a bit better next time.

The staff & locals were very friendly. It was quite homely & the Greek food was good - as were the other meals we had there. We will certainly go again. It was close to the East coast resorts, which was good.

Convenient location as stopping-off point between North Yorkshire and home in the Midlands. Ideal for short breaks. The setting was pleasant and peaceful; the room was clean and comfortable and the service was very good - helpful without being intrusive. There was a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was very tasty indeed !

We were in the area visiting relatives so it was ideal for us as a base especially as each room has its own entrance door. The room was very clean, bed comfortable and staff friendly so all in all very good value for money.

Clean and comfortable chalet style room. Great Greek restaurant in the adjoining pub. Huge portions which even defeated my appetite! A chair in the bedroom would have been useful. Nothing else.
