Score from 203 reviews Very good
Food was pricey and menu had very limited choice.
The Location was excellent - easily walkable to Blenheim Palace and in a very pleasant position in Woodstock.
Rooms pretty basic and tired in need of makeover
Central location for village with good food and beer and pub atmosphere. Blenheim entrance 2 minutes away
The WiFi in the bedroom was not good.
The food was excellent and the staff where excellent.
Large room and bathroom. Traditional cask ales in the bar. Full English breakfast included.
Very narrow staircase difficult to get up and down.
Good clean value for money stay in a great location.
The venue had atmosphere and served great food at good prices. Breakfast was cooked to order and amazing quality. We will be back.
Bed was quite small and a bit too soft for my liking, however ok for smaller people who like soft beds!
Pleasant staff, good food, unpretentious and quiet.
The breakfast was very poor, choose from menu that has prices on which is very confusing if you have pd B&B. you felt like you were only supposed to have one choice tables were just the bar tables with cutlery on and only got offered sugar on the last day. No proper fruit juice on offer, we get loads better at Coast and Country for half the price. Sat night cost £150 was that for the extra noise from the bar (entertainment) whether you want it or not.
The place itself and Blenheim.
Friendly staff, good location, good menu.
A popular bar and restaurant, well positioned for exploring this beautiful part of the country.
The wine price per glass is very, very expensive when compared with the price of a bottle. Wine list was not offered
Very good value
Only shortcoming (for frail / elderly) is a very steep staircase, but its part of the fabric of the building & didn't bother us.
Accepting that its a small, historic building in the centre of Woodstock, it provides exceptionally friendly staff, a great atmosphere & breakfast & meals availability on-site. The highlight, accommodation wise, of our trip.
No bath, only a shower
Excellent food, location and staff. Extremely comfortable bed!
Excellent value for money.Good evening meal.A lovely genuine country pub

Super Friendly Staff, fantastic location in the beautiful town of Woodstock, great food, and a 5 minute walk to Bleinham Palace.

Welcoming and friendly staff, comfortable room, good shower, excellent freshly cooked breakfast, no complaints!
Coming down for breakfast at 8.40am (in a suit, so the clue is that I am on business), I order breakfast. As expected tea arrives promptly. 15 minutes later I am assured my breakfast will be served soon. At 9.20am I give up and tell, who I believe to be the proprietor that I have run out of time, so I will not now take breakfast. What was really irritating, was the shallow and insincere 'sorry sir' response with no further explanation as to why after the best part of forty minutes they could not serve up a simple breakfast..................particularly as I was the only person waiting to be served. god only know how they would cope if they were busy. Other than a warm welcome, a clean room, a comfortable bed, a good shower, wi-fi that works, the measure of good service is prompt (but it doesn't have to be rushed) deliver of a freshly prepared breakfast, which, as someone who owned a small hotel, is possible in a maximum of ten to fifteen minutes. So if you are remotely in a hurry think twice before staying here. Its a shame as its otherwise OK.
It is what it says on the tin!!! a pub with rooms
A lovely pub with excellent rooms and very good food. The only downside is if you are not stable on your feet the this is not for you as the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow.
