Stayed in rm 4 which was quiet

The position, opposite the Bear, gives a wonderful view from the loo!!

Bed too soft for my taste

The staff is very serviceminded, it's very clean everywhere, the food is brilliant (their burger is the best ever!), and the location is perfect if you intend to do both city and countryside.

Friendly,helpful staff. Comfy bed. Excellent quality food both at breakfast and in the evening. Good selection of beers. Central location, couple of minutes walk from entrance to Blenheim Palace

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The food was very good, especially the fish and chips which were the best we have eaten. Even though we were directly over the bar it was not unduly noisy.

The windows were very awkward to open and did not always stay open. The wardrobe doors and the bathroom door would not close properly. The pub sign outside bedroom window made annoying noise throughout the night when it was windy.

We can not recommend this inn highly enough! It excelled on every count: the room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, both the breakfast and evening meals were delicious, the staff were happy and extremely helpful, and the position was perfect right in the middle of the gorgeous village. We went to Woodstock to visit Blenheim Palace but we will not need an excuse to return to The Star Inn.

Convenience of walking downstair for a bite to eat and breakfast....cozy pub atmosphere...both very good.

Issue with lighting in bedroom, bedside lamps not working...would also be nice to have face cloths...or wipes, especial for female travelers...

The staircase was narrow and almost like climbing a spiral ladder No breakfast till 8am so I wasn't offered a reduction or a possibility of anything before that time

No dislikes at all. Minor quibbles are that the bed was a bit small - we are not large people. Also one of the light fittings and the hairdryer were faulty. But these were not big issues as we were only there one night.

Friendly, central location with short walk to Blenheim gate on Park St., great food and drink. This was our second visit and will not be our last.

The inn was charming, and we were comfortable in every way but one. Close to Blenheim Palace and Oxford.

Unfortunately, when we readied ourselves for the night and turned on the sink first and then the shower, there was no hot water at all....ice cold, even after we ran the water for as long as we dared. Since it was about 11:00 PM (23:00), we climbed into bed and hoped for the best for the morning. When we arose about 7:30 AM, all was as it should be. Not a major thing, but after a long day, it was disappointing to have this occur.

Quite noisy at times. Although realise it is a pub downstairs - so that's acceptable. There was a lot of noise coming from rooms above with a strange rumbling noise which sounded like a tumble dryer continuously going. The spare pillow in wardrobe was stained - a bit off putting!
