The Steamship

The location was very good for the dlr tube line which suited our purpose very well. The staff were very friendly.

The tea and coffee facilities were rather poor, there was a kettle and paper cups shared between everyone, there were no spoons with which to remove the tea bags and there was no milk made available, we had to purchase it from the tesco round the corner, there was a comunial fridge where we could leave milk. toilet paper ran out in the evening on the evening we checked in though we managed for find a small part of one roll. There was a ladies night on the saturday which went on until 1am (we were warned that there would be a drag queen there but not the time it would on until) though as the clocks went back one hour it was technically 2am when the music stopped, then there were people shouting about outside and cars reving their engines for a further 45mins after that. There was also no soap made available to was hands after we had been to the toilet or hand drying facilities. The room we were in was a twin bed room though we had asked for a double, though this is of little consiquece as we didn't managed to get a lot of sleep due to music and having to be up early for the expo which we were attending.

2 minute walk from Blackwall Docklands Light Railway station to the Steamship and a 5 minute walk fo the McDonalds for breakfast which was quite handy.Beer and ale was nice,pool table and nice food through the week.Friendly staff. The bedroom and bathroom were both clean and warm.It was Ideal for our weekend trip to the Excel.

The Pub was not open on the weekend but could understand why.

I was late arriving but the landlady was kind enough to drive back and check me in when I phoned her at nearly 12am! Nice room setup upstairs of an old building pub. Plus, the City is at a short reach with the Docklands Railway just a few yards away!

The room had everything I needed and was clean, the shared bathroom was OK, and the price was very good relative to the service. I booked it at the last minute and I had no problems.

Wifi connection to internet was broken! That was really annoying; but I hope that it is not always like this.

The greeting was friendly, efficient, thorough and helpful. Located near the DLR makes it ideal, but you may need to manage expectations because it is inexpensive and facilities are 'basic' but I would certainly use again. You just need to plan ahead -I brought my own towels after reading reviews. Good value.

Brilliant location ..... Good train service near by. The room was clean as was the bathroom ..... Honestly couldn't fault it. Thanks for having us, we will definitely be returning.

This place is rooms above a Pub, Nothing wrong with that, The rooms are very tired and not that clean but for £35 per night I wasn't expecting much. The Bathroom is on the coridoor and is shared with other guests, not a problem The tv worked ok. When I was shown the room the windows were wide open and I shut the window as the rain was coming in and went down to the bar to pay for the room. Upon returning to the room I noticed it had a damp smell. The worst thing though, when I got into bed the heat of my body released a terrible smell from the sheets, pillow and duvet. This smell was that of mouldy washing I dont think it had been dried properly when it was laundered. I went to find someone to change the bedding or the room but at 11pm the bar was closed and there was nobody around. I had to put up with it and reconciled myself that I would shower in the morning and I could feel clean again. I did shower and ther was plenty of hot water although I had to hold the shower head low in the bath tub as the was no way of fixing it to the wall above the bath. I managed but I then had to use the towel provided by the hotel, as soon as it got wet the same smell exuded from the towel and consequently I had to walk around all day with a musty unwashed smell. Not pleasent at all The management or owners need to investigate the laundry processes to avoid this. Properly washed, dried and aired laundrey should not smell like this ever.

On arrival the owner went out to buy bedding as there were none . there were no towels , we were offered tea towels. No running water. The place is an absolute dump.it is the worst place I have ever stayed in 35 years travelling around the uk in my job. We moved out the following day and moved into the ibis docklands. You need to remove the steamship from your listings .

Decent sized single room, decorated nicely. Very close to Blackwall DLR station, which is then close to ExCeL London.

No soap or towel/drier in the toilets, and toilet paper ran out. Unable to contact anyone in the morning (everything was locked up, and no-one answered the phone).

At ved bestilling af dobbeltværelse, var blevet til to enkeltværelser. Der var ingen håndklæder, og badeværelset beskidt. Altialt var det nok mere et slidt klubværelse der kan gå an hvis man kun lige skal overnatte uden nogen form for luksus

Das Gebäude ist in einem miserablen Zustand, das Service ist katastrophal, an einem Tag ist die Dusche und das WC ausgefallen und es gab keine Info, absolut nicht zu empfehlen

-There is a lot of noise because of cars. -My room was not ready when arrived (even though it was at 5p.M. and I had to wait more than 1 hour. -The building and decoration are very unattractive. -Internet was not working

The location is not far from the airport and the O2. Also good connections to downtown. The hotel is right next to a DLR-station.

I found an hair in the bed. An employee told me she cleaned it. The pillow did not smell fresh. The other linnen seemed ok. I could clearly see dust on the closet. The internet doesn't work. There was a little cold wind from the window.
