The Studley Hotel  

Superb location for all Harrogate has to offer. Orchid Restaurant is excellent.

Stayed in room 22 (again). Lighting in room is very poor for men shaving and ladies for make-up. Personally beds are on hard side. 2 Pillows are too high, 1 Pillow too low. (We have mentioned these issues previously. Everything else excellent.

Excellent restaurant, car park and friendly staff.

We were in Room 11 for 3 nights. The bed was very low (no higher than 2 feet) and extremely hard. We thought that all the beds in the hotel were the same but noticed on our last day that the rest of the rooms in the hotel are traditional ie mattress on a frame. Apparently this is the only room in the hotel with such a bed. The bed was inappropriate for guests in their 60s as it was very difficult to get in and out.When guests check in at the hotel the receptionist should bear this in mind. When we complained on our departure the receptionist was very apologetic but that does not help your back problems.

The friendly atmosphere lovely food great staff, bars were welcoming and busy, room was large and warm and comfortable.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Studley Hotel, the whole experience was fantastic again! The staff where freindley and helpful, the room exeptional for style and comfort and sparkling clean. The restaurant, The Orchid was again fantastic with a great range of dish's beautifully prepared and wonderful flavours! Can't wait to go back!

Cosy, warm, modern decor with excellent facilities, great bar and atmospheric restaurant

Old building a little bit creaky and there were the odd cooking smells emanating from restaurant below, but not too bad to be off putting.

Flexibility to allow us to check in one hour early to allow us to prepare for the wedding we were attending. Location.

I personally prefer to be served breakfast rather than a buffet breakfast where eggs are cooked perhaps 30 minutes beforehand.

It was our second visit as a base to visit family locally. The hotel is well placed for the town centre and comfortable. Staff are efficient.

The car park is limited and tight, but there is plenty of local parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.

Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful bed was very comfortable restaurant was outstanding

Parking ia a serious problem ensuite bathroom was so small, lacking in facilities and drab do not like, as a guest, to be prohibited from using facilities because of number of outside guests the number of functions on the night meant that the rest areas were crowded and noisy - had to retire to room

Beautiful boutique hotel. Great location. Would highly recommend for a weekend treat.

We have stopped there before and enjoyed our stay so we new what to expect.we would recommend the hotel.we had a nice surprise has we were upgraded at no extra cost on check in.

Ideal location for the smart Montpellier Quarter of Harrogate for fashion and antiques lovers and just a short walk from Betty'S. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were charming and the menu in the Pan-Asian Orchid restaurant offered a wide choice from Thai curry to spicy Sechuan dishes. There were a variety of other restaurants within a short stroll of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was fresh and constantly replenished. The room was stylishly decorated with widescreen tv and internet access. There were good quality toiletries in the ensuite and a bathtub with an excellent shower over.

Our room (41) on the third floor was in the eaves so had limited headroom (as did the attic stairs!) so we would ask for a room on the second floor if visiting again. The bed although comfortable was just a standard double - king size would have fitted into the room - surely about time they were used in all hotels? The pillows, as we find in many hotels, were very firm - just too low with one and too high with two. If they had been softer, then two would have been fine.
