Stairs but no different than other old hotels No Lift
Tasty pub food
Too much traffic noise from the main road.
That I had to leave after a few days
Friendly staff and atmosphere
Room needed blackout blinds or curtains
The staff are excellent
Small bedrooms hotel has had all character removed we ate dinner in a corridor
Having to ask for toilet roll to be advised that there had been an issue with their delivery and the would have to buy it. When we reported it at breakfast, would have expected someone to replace it whilst we were having breakfast but instead we had to take toilet roll from the bar toilets. No milk in room for coffee, had to ask for it. Quite a bit of mould in bathroom.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed confortable. Food very good.
For some reason the girl on at breakfast kept bringing the food, toast etc. but never went away with any dirty dishes. Strange really, we had to move our dirty dishes to the next empty table ourselves as our table was overflowing!!
4 ladies came down for breakfast only to be told sorry we have run out of breakfast bowls and we are not allowed to wash any by hand,it wasn't the young girls fault but common sense should come into it,we would not stay here again
Location very central to most areas. Relaxed atmosphere.
Dinner menue could have been a bit more varied.
Our room was very noisy above the bar couldn't sleep until late and then woken up very early when music was playing again for breakfast. Staff were very nice however would not stay again due to lack of sleep you get while staying at the sun hotel
Had a great time, staff were great, nothing was to much trouble for them. Hotel is in a good location for surrounding areas, everything in easy reach. The young couple who had the hotel had only been there a few weeks, they were always around and both really hard working,we hope that everything goes well for them. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
We stayed in room 12 and the bathroom was a little cramp.
Beds comfortable,excellent food, pleasant staff
Wet towel left on bed after bathroom had been cleaned, felt rushed through breakfast on sunday morning, bass noise from music until 10pm in a so-called quiet room
Meals good. Breakfast good.
No TV remote control on room. Expecting to be closer to the lake.
The welcome, nothing to much trouble we required extra pillows and hand towels no problem, good evening meals and the new lounge gave somewhere to relax in in the evening. Plenty of parking and somewhere to sit out in the garden in the sunshine this was a bonus for mid September.
Poor Wi-Fi, My wife's breakfast was cold on the first morning this had to be replaced mine was ok, all ok on the second morning
Evening meal we had on Saturday was good
Breakfast not enough choice Service at breakfast Lack of amenities in room, not enough towels, no comfortable seating, very small bathroom and shower cubicle Tv did not work Wifi password would not connect Lighting in room was very dull The whole hotel needed a deep clean and possible refurb
The friendliness of the young staff, The breakfast was delicious.
My husband and I booked 2 nights in a king room as we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We were very disappointed that we spent £228 for just a room with a bed that's on a very busy main road. It's never a good sign when entering a room you are welcomed by a letter that basically says sorry about the noise from the traffic and that our curtains aren't good, here is an eye mask and some ear plugs!!! The mugs provided were dirty. The shower head was broken and wouldn't stay up. The breakfast was poor, 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, 1 mushroom, 1 tomato and cold toast. Only one girl waiting all tables and couldn't keep up the pace. We waited an hour for breakfast one morning! I overheard a group of women at breakfast asking the waitress for more juice and some bowls for the cereals and they were told "I can get you juice, but we don't have any bowls left so no" didn't even apologise!! Ruined our anniversary weekend!
The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times, the food was very good, and the accomadation was good.
Using public transport or the taxi companies to access Windermere were quite expensive.
Room clean with a large en suite. the breakfast was excellent and staff were on hand when needed.
Wifi and general phone signal was a problem in our room but ok in the bar area.
friendly warm welcome , bedroom very clean and everything you needed , ideal location for great walks and drives great breakfast
very close to main road
Room,staff and decor
Breakfast was a big let down. .deep fried bacon and mushroom...egg not cooked enough..expected a better breakfast for a room that cost£100 for 1 night
The new manager was very hospitable and very helpful Great breakfast served in a welcoming area The pub on the ground floor is attractive and welcoming
Some road noise in the morning but better double glazing was just about to be installed.
Clean modern hotel and the food was lovely.
This hotel is newly refurbished and has a young couple at the helm. They are charming, welcoming and eager to please. The room was light and nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. The en suite was modern and beautifully clean. Breakfast was hearty or healthy (offering either choices on the menu) The evening meal menu was varied, nicely cooked and presented well. Importantly, plenty of on-site, free, private parking. In all, a very enjoyable overnight stay. Would definitely book this hotel again. We wish the new hosts lots of success - they certainly deserve it.
Nothing displeased us. Only good things to report.
I liked everything about the hotel and even though I had read some bad reviews I'm so glad I choose this hotel. I I don't know what some of the reviews where about stayin the food was awful and unfriendly staff, I have to say I did not find this the case at all and would recommend this hotel, it's food and it's staff.
