Score from 152 reviews Very good
Hairs in the plug hole from previous occupants, dirty and sticky breakfast table, staff didn't seem interested. Had to ask for everything, nothing was offered. Room was tired and neglected, a bit like the whole hotel.
Smack bang in the middle of the town, 5 mins walk from the station. friendly helpful staff, superb breakfast, comfortable well equipped rooms
Lots of stairs to top (2nd) floor but room was very quiet
Friendly staff, homey atmosphere
Room looked weary, carpet and toilet not very clean. Landing full of cobwebs and dust. Tables in restaurant sticky (morning and evening)
The location was good near to the station for Bath staff and Manager were very helpful good choice of food especially at breakfast all cooked to a very high quality The rooms were very comfy and clean and our room 10 was very quiet
Rooms were a bit tired but nothing that could not be rectified with a little tlc Made some suggestions to the management which I think they will put into force
room was dirty, marks on the carpet, net curtains were stained, shower curtain was filthy, grout and seal round bath mouldy, damp patches on bathroom ceiling, mould in bathroom, had to pass rubbish to get to room, breakfast room noisy and crowded, breakfast sparce, mattress dipped in the middle
very friendly helpful staff superb hotel great location
nice big room location nice breakfast
needs smartening up staff can be a bit ditzy need to be clearer on their 'offer'
Traditional English style of the hotel and perfect countryside of the surrounding area!
Ideally situated in centre of town, with easy access to rail station Free car parking Helpful staff, especially Phoebe Very comfortable beds
Communal areas were not very clean and decor was poor - need re-vamp
staff very friendly
ground floor gents toilet not open for the 4 days stay
Nice rooms comfortable and clean
Food was expensive for the size of portions which were small for meals and breakfast don't think the Asian mix helps keep it simple
Excellent location in centre of town.Pleasant bar area and interesting menu.
We stayed in No.6 room and thought shower could do with replacing. Also traffic noice in this room quite bad.
Excellent location for canal walks. Both the Folk Night and the Blues Night in the bar during our stay were a reall bonus
Helpful staff, we asked for another room as we were on the top floor.
Didn't tell us the new room was more expensive, however we agreed on a compromise.
The hotel is in a good location close to the railway station which is ideal for visiting nearby Bath. The food was very good as were the staff who were very polite and helpful
Avoid a nearby pub the horseshoes, whose staff and clientele leave a lot to be desired.
Not enough milk and breakfast tea in bedroom (only 3 milk)
Location & transport very good, staff very helpful, good breakfast & evening meals.
The food especially the option of the Thai menu. The size of the room
The feel of a old hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was ideal, right in the heart of downtown Bradford on Avon. Room was very clean.
Price was way to high for what you got. We were in room number 2 which wa son the top floor and it was very hot with no fan for the room.
Food. Staff attitude (excellent). Parking and proximity to town centre. All in all you couldn't fault it!
The hotel did not honour the booking so our party had to relocate thus ruining the weekend.
Location was excellent, staff quite helpfull and there was ample parking.
Room was not ready on arival 3pm. TV did not work because no remote,I asked at reception and given wrong one. WC took over an hour to fill so had to use reception / public WC in morning. Because of these points it was over priced.
Live music(not a scheduled evening)making conversation in our room impossible.Staff burst into our room without invitation.Door was left insecure for the whole day by staff as the latch didn't work properly unless door was slammed.Top of window was painted shut and bottom only stayed open with room bin support.Cleaning left unfinished and room in a worse state than we had left it.Staff had work load discussion in room while finishing cleaning.Light was out in bathroom and shelves sloped so items fell off window was cracked.Reception staff on arrival disinterested and no welcome. Cooked breakfast was lukewarm.Room had cobwebs and bed base cover worn with holes.Worst room we have ever stayed in basically management don't care.First booking with booking.com won't ever use again and could have got better deal using hotel direct.Feel hotel is an insult to the lovely town.
The location was perfect for our stay and breakfast was really good, with fresh, local ingredients.
The room was quite small and the blind at the window was broken. For the price, it was not particularly good value for money.
Very well located and great authentic building (from 1500 but modern)
Room without airco Traffic noise entering room
