The Swan  

Great location for an overnight visit to Bath. As Bath can be expensive and typically most B&B's require a 2 night stay, The Swan in Bradford was a perfect location. 5 minute walk to train station and 15 minute train ride to Bath. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathroom in our room was very spacious. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if in the area.

The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Any request was dealt with in a friendly manner.We appreciated the upgrade to a superior room and the walk in shower we had requested. The food in the restraurant was excellent both in the quality and variety. Very good value for money

A couple of very minor gripes, the plug in the wash hand basin did not work properly and the shower head could have done with descaling. For anyone who does not know Bradford on Avon they should be aware that the Swan is in the centre of town and there is considerable traffic noise from early morning.

Good location for exploring bath and surrounding area.

The hotrl is in great need of a re-vamp,much too expensive for quality of accomodation.

Location, especially when using public transport. The room was attractive

This is an old coaching inn and the public areas and guest areas cannot be separated. In busy periods this could be a disadvantage. The dinner menu was heavily into Asian food which may not be everyones choice. Stairs for older guests can be a trial!

If you want to stay in Bradford on Avon, The Swan, is very central. The staff where friendly. The Hotel/Pub was o.k but very average.

For breakfast I ordered poached eggs, bacon and sausage. I got 1 item of each ordered. I paid £110.00 for one nights stay. I would expect a bit more. The view from my room could have been better.

I liked the welcome we received and that the manager checked we were still coming - which assured me our reservation was logged and all was ok, and assured them that the room would not be empty. We were also helped to find an iron at short notice and a taxi booked - and never made to feel a burden. This was really lovely. I like the service we received at breakfast - I.E. tables cleared quickly, all staff very polite and acknowledged and asked how we were. Staff always on hand to help. I liked the general overall style of the hotel and liked a lot that it had character and wonky floors - which fits with the area and the style and holiday theme for visiting the area.

I thought that the room and facilities were a bit overpriced at £110, and for that reason I wouldn't visit again which is a shame as there were some great points. I can stay in a local 5* Marriott hotel for £95, where the facilities are far superior. I was disappointed at breakfast with the portions, this would be easy to remedy (E.G. baked beans in the tiniest bowl and 1 slice of bacon - why? These don't cost a lot, so seems silly?) Also - you would expect a really hearty breakfast in this type of holiday setting - especially if you were going to go walking or similar. (By the way I weigh under 8 stone, and so think this represents the average opinion, am not just greedy hehe ☺) The bedroom and bathroom also needed repainting, some paint was peeling off. Had the price been better value for money this sort of thing is more easily forgiven. Also a worry - the bedroom window was letting a lot of air through - typical of those old sash windows. Didn't cause us any problems, but would worry that money on heating is being wasted due to poor insulation during winter months.

The Hotel was sad and tired.

We loved the ambience, so quaint. Very nice people and wonderful food. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitly go back.

Nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Room walls paper thin and conversations in adjoining room highly distractive during the night. Not good value.

One of the bar attendants, Katie, was the only one that we thought was attentive and helpful.

The food was terrible and the hotel needs a serious upgrade and definitely not worth the money we paid.

Very accomodating staff. Great location for Bradford-upon -avon and neighbouring towns. Well insulated from noise,although right in the centre of town.

The single room on the 2nd floor might be very hot in summer with no cross- ventilation.

the manager was really helpful and was willing to help us all he could with anything we asked him and always with a smile the girls working there were always ready to serve you and became lovely friends especially jai i wanted to bring her home with us. the food was good quality and perfectly cooked everywhere was spotlessly clean and well presented thank you james and to all the staff

An old fashioned hotel with character and friendly staff. Although the dining room was next to the public bar, it wasn't noisy. The evening meals were good with a reasoable choice. Access to the town and railway station was easy.

The steep stairs and lack of a lift would worry some elderly visitors, but reflect the age of the hotel. Breakfast was a bit disorganised with fruit in jars which could be a bit stale and an inadequate toaster, rather than service from the kitchen.

Well located and friendly staff

Rooms too small and hotel badly in need of renovation. Poor wi-fi reception and difficult to access third level with heavy luggage and no lift. Not good value for price paid in comparison to others.

The Swan is a delightful hotel which has managed to convert a very old, historic building into a very comfortable and stylish venue. Located in the beautiful Bradford on Avon it makes an ideal base for exploring the wonderful countryside and attractions such as Bath.

Train connections where great the village was beutifull Nice pubs Service was very friendly at the Hotel The room was nicely decorated and had character.
