Score from 613 reviews Good
Great food, friendly staff and very comfortable bed.
Proximity to road made room noisy.
Shower...very poor. Lack of pressure and middling to cold.
The evening staff were very good and the food was of good quality and sensibly priced.
The night sleep for all in my party was disturbed by music playing all night. It was not another guest but was coming from downstairs. The morning staff were apologetic and said they would investigate but I was not convinced. This put a dampener on the oevrall stay.
Friendly staff, great location. Loved the country vibe. Breakfast choice sensational.
Wifi a bit patchy but ok.
Staff thoughtfulness for elderly solo guest, old pub atmosphere, great food
Lovely place to stay, as its an old building the floors where very creaky and a bit of a maize as we where quite far away from where you go upstairs. The food was delicious, i certainly recommend the yummy chocolate brownie!
The only thing to mention is that the bed wasn't the best but was ok for a couple of nights.
Location suited my needs
The long wait at breakfast to even place an order.
Staff friendly, room comfortable and clean, good breakfast and spacious car parking.
Wi-Fi was only available in the pub area when open. We couldn't download emails there from our respective servers, presumably because of flagged up "no security" and certificate problems.
Bar area, food, friendliness of staff, cleanliness.
Wifi almost unusable, very thin walls so noises from next room , shower weak pressure.
Manager was great
Hotel bedroom not cleaned well enough Black carpet ! Dusty
The lady from Spain was a delight to talk to.
No WiFi in the rooms
Food was excellent
Friendly and helpful staff, good food, comfortable room.
Very busy - and noisy - road running right beside the inn and between it and the car park
Good location, especially if you are traveling between Salisbury and Bath. Plenty of parking.
Since it's an older inn that seems to have expanded in stages over the years, the route to your room may be a little winding. I would suggest arranging a "near" room if you have a lot of luggage.
The staff where pleasant and helpful. Food was good but nothing particularly unusual.
Crossing the busy road from the car park. Bill not summarised on one A4 sheet
Very friendly welcoming staff. Great food and good nights sleep
Wifi was limited
Very good service and food at a very realistic price.
no hot water in our room
Very good place to stay, easy to find as it is on the road. Close to Stonehenge. Staff is very nice and friendly, knows very well the surroundings. Definitely I would stay again.
The weather :) You have to be careful when crossing the road.
Good food, and a comfortable bed.
The staff were great and very helpful. The carvery and bar were very nice. The room was very comfortable and a nice size.
We couldn't get the WiFi to work even in the bar. It was next to a busy road.
- modern design of room - clean
- not enough hot water to take a bath though there was a bath tub - extremely thin walls, we were woken up at 5:45 by the alarm clock next door - in general noisy environment as the pub is directly at an A road - staff at breakfast was a bit unfriendly
When we arrived our room was not ready due to a slight mix up with housekeeping. However the staff acted promptly to sort the situation while we were having a complimentary drink in the cosy bar. Service was excellent throughout our stay and the room was spotless, warm and quiet with triple glazing as it was at the front of the hotel on the main road. We only stayed one night, but ate in the restaurant - excellent meal, beautifully cooked and prompt efficient service from the staff. Also we were leaving early the next day to travel on somewhere else, so would not be able to have breakfast. We were immediately offered cereals to take up to our room to have before we left - very considerate we thought and it was delicious. Car park is also right opposite the inn, so nice and safe for our car.
contractors staying thin walls noise poor nights rest
We haven't been to The Swan for a couple of years and were delighted to find that it is as good as it was when we came regularly. We were warmly greeted on arrival and the staff were charming throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and I slept very well. Breakfast was delicious and substantial and set us up well for the day. And we enjoyed watching the swans on the river from our window. We had a lovely time.
There was no wifi signal in our room. Also, the duvet was too short for my over six foot husband, so his feet stuck out and got very cold in the night.
Location Staff friendliness Food Standard of accommodation
No shower due to low water pressure, no bath alternative. Did raise it but no compensation offered. Feel £105 for a room without shower facilities excessive. Wi-Fi limited to bar area
