good for overnight stay when travelling. large carpark which is free, good food.
not much nearby carpark across a busy main road,
Location was fine
Cold room and didn't enjoy the breakfast
Good reasonably priced food, quiet location (despite being on A road), great cooked breakfast, comfortable room
Wifi didn't work anywhere but the bar (ie no access in rooms or outside)
Excellent food, varied menu, good choice for breakfast. Friendly staff.
Proximity to busy road but triple glazing keeps out most of noise. Banging of doors by thoughtless other guests.
THE STAFF WERE GREAT. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLANT. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE STAYED LONGER TO HAVE SAMPLED MORE OF THE MENU. THE PLACE WAS SPOTLESS.GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AFTER A DAY'S SIGHTSEEN. THE LOCATION WAS GREAT. WITH PARK AND RIDE NEAR BY FOR GETTING INTO SALIBURY.STONEHENGE CLOSE.WOULD LIKE
Breakfast was excellent.
Traffic noise even with triple glazing Shower poor. Mastic black gunge needs to be replaced. Ceiling black mould.
Staff very friendly, and food was really good
Wifi not very good & only in public rooms
Comfortable rooms, with comfy mattress and pillows. Great breakfast. Toiletries provided for a short stay. Fan hidden in the wardrobe for warm summer evenings. Garden with views over the river, stunning. Triple glazed windows so no traffic noise.
Car Park across from main road.
Attended and stayed at The Swan for a family wedding. Rooms were great, luxury bathrooms with tea, coffee et., Great cooked breakfast with option for cereal if preferred. Even though located on the main A36 there is no noise from passing traffic.
Having to be out of the room by 10am
Staff friendly, good meal, very accommodating
No air conditioning, hot night and unable to open window as right on highway - very noisy
Staff & facilities
the guest house is a bit far from the city center
I was a late arrival and they were happy to have a salad ready at 10.30pm. There was a Wedding Disco going on below my room but from the moment I arrived the staff assured me it would be finished by 11pm and at 10.50pm it all became peaceful. Spot-on Breakfast Poached Eggs
WiFi can be a bit intermittent. Lights a bit dim in room Only cereals and juices on breakfast buffet, no fruit (not even the traditional grapefruit segments) or yoghurts
Staff we're incredibly hard working and helpful, even when under pressure. Nothing was too much. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Very good quality food.
Lovely well appointed room Restaurant Family friendly pun Riverside Garden Friendly Staff
wifi doesn't really work in our room Busy road outside (triple glazed windows kept the noise out though)
food great! bar and carvery area cosy.welcome great! (family)room and en suite well appointed.
Family(only) restaurant area basic and inclined to be noisy.Rooms by the road noisy if you need to have your window open to sleep. Crossing road to car park and garden bit of a problem if busy. I found the pillows uncomfortable,as with most places,as they have to use washable foam types?
The actual site without the road being so busy was stunning.(we did actually see Swans on the river too) The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Certain aspects of the food we had were good.
The road is really really busy with trucks a matter of inches away from the windows. If you have lots of luggage/walking difficulties, ask for the first rooms as there are very narrow twisting passages with steps up and down to the furthest rooms. The '''roast'' on offer did not offer fresh carrots - looked like tinned and whilst the yorkshire puddings were the biggest I have seen, the plates were not, so be careful in your choice.
nice décor in room, choice of breakfasts good
Bed was too soft for me but that's a personal thing of course
The hotel had been nicely done up. The staff were polite and quick to help.
The bedroom was tiny. If it was a superior deluxe double then I would hate to see a normal double. The breakfast options were limited and the hotel was on a busy main road which was noisy. Also, the door didn't fit properly so you could hear everyone go up and down the corridor. The Wifi didn't work.
Great old pub stay, comfortable, ideally located for our plans of seeing Stonehenge and Salisbury without being in town, great food, we even joined the Sunday night fundraising Quiz and had a lot of fun. Quiet and tidy. The staff were so easy going and very eager to assist.
The Swan is a classic old style English pub. My satnav had difficulty finding the location, but that may have been me. Location was handy to Stonehenge which is what we wanted. Staff all very friendly and a cosy atmosphere. Meals very nice. The room itself was well appointed.
the road noise was a bit more that led to believe, given the rooms are virtually on the road. Car parking across the road, made it a bit tricky hauling large suitcases, given the busy road at the time we arrived.
Room was clean and spacious. The food and drink was of a good standard.
The mattress was hard making it a fairly uncomfortable night.
The wind as the trucks rushed past the dining area
Food and staff were great. Lovely.
Upstairs was dated and smelled of cigarettes. It was so noisy but we did have the window open as a hot night.
Free access to the river for grayling fishing
