Friendly, Pub atmosphere, safe parking, good breakfast. By mid-Sunday morning the place was heaving! Difficult to check out if you want a receipt! This is an old coaching inn with lots of atmosphere, but, the rooms are small and outdated. Maybe it cannot be modernised?

The warm efficient welcome on check-in and every time we dined was genuine and right across the entire team. The bedroom was so quaint and well laid out and being in the courtyard was quiet novel and convenient, especially as we were out and about both days horse riding at Willington Hall Stables. The quality of the food was excellent from breakfast right throughout the day being so fresh and very reasonable priced (OMG the Mediterranean Mussels are the best!) The overall quirkiness of staying somewhere with oodles of character is charming and leaves you with the best memories of a short break away. The crazy bell ringing from the church nearby and of course having to leave and head back to work!

Would wholeheartedly recommend The Swan to business and leisure travellers alike. Our room was spacious, well appointed and beautifully clean. As our room was located in the old stables/mews, to the rear of the main inn, it was also beautifully quiet. The Swan is very good value for money, and serves lovely home made food, also at very reasonable cost. There are no negative points to speak of. The only minor issue was the level of heat in our room.....more of a problem to the bill payer than ourselves though as we just opened the window!
