The proximity to Windsor racecourse was the initial attraction however it's NOT a 500 yard walk - it's more like 1,500. The room was spotlessly clean and Richard the landlord helpful, friendly and welcoming, can't say the same for the rest of his family. GBP45 with no breakfast is NOT good value for money and well over the top however this is Royal Windsor. Whilst Richard was an affable host his wife and family were distant and aloof. I still haven't decided whether it was shyness, snobbishness or rudeness however they could all do with a course in hotel hospitality and take a bit more interest in their guests if they want repeat business. I felt like an invader to their privacy, tip-toed about, stayed in my room and crept out early making a little noise as possible. The staff in the BP garage round the corner were much better.

Car park behind gates of pub. The bar area was dingy and didn't appear very clean. There were dog hairs on the seats.

It's a traditional English pub, very comfortable, a wonderful wood burning fire, great beer and an atmosphere of the old pub era where the locals come round for a drink and a game of cards. Very comfortable and relaxing.

I would highly recommend booking as The Swan has so much character that budget hotels lack. I really felt like I was at home during my visit to The Swan. I experienced really exceptional and friendly service during my stay from the owners Jayne and Richard, as well as from their two children; I think it’s fantastic how the whole family gets involved with the business. All my requests were catered for, and nothing was too much trouble. My double room was attractive and tastefully decorated; I actually don’t think the picture on this website does it justice. I felt like they went the extra mile; biscuits were provided daily in my room and the continental breakfast was great. Surprisingly, I had no problems with the communal bathroom. During my 4 night visit the bathroom was unoccupied every time I needed to use it, therefore I wouldn’t let this put you off booking. I also didn’t hear any noise from the pub downstairs despite being directly above it. Furthermore there was no road noise, so I definitely had good sleep during my stay. As a business traveller I have stayed in a wide variety of different hotels; and I have to say I really do prefer the personal service, charm and homely appeal that this venue offers. It is good for corporate stays because not only is there is parking and free wi-fi, it is close to the major motorway junctions and there is a wide variety of nearby restaurants and takeaways. A huge plus point for solo travellers is that you can sit downstairs in the pub; the regulars are more than happy to have a chat. I have extended my stay to 3 weeks; I think I would have been in despair in a soul-less budget chains! In conclusion, excellent value for money.

Ideal for Windsor Races. V traditional pub. Very reasonably priced. Has parking and free wifi Landlady came out and spoke really grumpily to some of us about parking. Whether she had a point or not I don't know but you sometimes worry about people like that who put themselves in a job where they have to deal with people

WE were able to bring our dog as we were taking part in a dog show the following day. The Swan was a short walk from Windsor. The owners were friendly and accomodating. We were able to leave early without disturbing any one

Friendly welcome . Nice pub with lots of England flags so lots of fun if you are Scots, Welsh or Irish during the 6 Nations or football between the home nations! Typical selection of beers including some local cask ales. Nice small outside seating area. A real cozy pub. Particularly impressed that the rooms were clean and fresh and did not smell of a pub - unlike others I have stayed in . Much more fun and 10* better than a boring Travelodge and close to the river and Windsor castle No en suite toilet/shower and shower in the shared bathroom could perhaps do with modernizing. The price reflects the lack of en suite .
