Comfort Service Food
Slightly formal - the Crown has more buzz just along the road
Great personal customer service; our upgrade to a suite with lovely views ; great breakfast cooked to order rather than kept warm at the buffet ; we found plenty of choice at dinner.
Fantastic location, central to Southwold and very close to beaches Great availability and variety of menu's Relaxed feel Friendly and efficient staff Lovely room
Checking out at the end of our stay, wished we could've stayed longer
The location is unbeatable. The staff are generally helpful. Food is consistently good, with dinner better than many well known restaurants. The garden is lovely if a bit overgrown this year.
The price has gone up. My sons and their families had to leave early on Monday and breakfast was not available until 8.00.
Evening meal very good. The public rooms were very comfortable. Hotel situated in the centre of the town giving easy access to the shops and beach.
Some staff a bit unfriendly. Reception staff were efficient but not very welcoming initially. The breakfast was very average with slow service. The hotel was over priced for the standard of service on offer.
Food was excellent, staff polite & helpful :)
Dated and tired accommodation .. Plastic old shower .. Dusty and dirty .. Beds uncomfortable cheap toiletries :(
hot breakfast was good and staff were very helpful Cold selection was poor At £170 there should be grapefruit!!!
Our room 44 was not cleaned on the second day (19th Aug) and a staff member from reception had to do this. The room was in poor condition with a leak under the sink.the shower is excellent but the shower guard over the bath is inadequate. Bed needs a new mattress
Staff very helpful. And very pleased that a parking space was reserved for me as have a walking problem. Lovely breakfast & service.
Coffee & tea set-up in the room. Thought kettle plug connection could be dangerous. Would have liked to see more choices on dinner menu.
Ideal situation for a relaxing break. All the staff were attentive and pleasant, in particular the gentleman who directed us to the car park round the back of the hotel and then stood waiting for us to make sure we found the way. The chamber maids were ready to accomodate any special request, and did so with a cheerful manner.
The entrance to the car park at the front was a bit narrow but there were no obvious directions to the entrance round the back
comfortable bed &pillows and good location to all facilities.
A wonderful location in the middle of Southwold. Just a short stroll from the sea front. Food quality very good. Staff very friendly.
A pleasant old-fashioned country town hotel
We thought it was very over-priced for what it offered, even recognising this was a weekend in the middle of the holiday season. Parking facilities were very tight
The swan is a really good hotel, very clean & comfortable , right in the heart of Southwold. What's not to like?!!
I cannot think of anything we didn't like.
A little disappointed about the room, No 3..... No view, smelt feisty & unused, bathroom needs someTLC!!!! Think could have found better value for money elsewhere, was expecting a far higher standard, breakfast was fine for me but again, not great quality and quite minimal ( from a mans point if view)
Everything, I wish it was a little cheaper so we could visit more often but no complaints!
Only the fact that I wish I could visit more
Bedroom & Shower
Carpet on staircase a little tired. Lift doors heavy to open
The classic setting, the garden
I thought that the bar looked a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was in a storage space
Bathroom had nowhere for toilet bags etc. Simple thing but annoying when you're paying over £200 a night. VERY hot room!
large bedroom, queen size bed. good tasty breakfast.
building and rooms need updating.
nice looking hotel, great location, great freindly staff their to help your every needs and stay as comfitable as possable.
Staff gave good service Breakfasts good. Lounge with newspapers good. Garden pleasant.
Hotel needed major re-furbishment. needed decorating internally and major renovation outside (broken drainpipes, flaking paint, dirty windows, no air- con. or insulation. Tired furniture. The price was sky high at £185 per night for a double room
The staff were friendly and efficient.
We did not know that we would not be in the main hotel building. I have walking difficulties, and we had to walk through the car park and garden to get to our room. There was also no hot water in the shower.
From when we first arrived we were very well looked after, care was taken to give us a room near to the lift, and a place was found to store the wheelchair in the lobby. When there was nothing suitable for my restricted diet in the menu, something suitable was cooked in stead.
The lift was a bit scary!
Location cleanliness Ambience Style Comfort Bed - superb Fluffy Towels
Half way through dinner they were making up tables for breakfast
The garden room was excellent. Dinner menu very good
Breakfast a bit chaotic
