The bathroom could do with some refurbishment

Where it was situated, that is an old building and that the staff were very friendly but also efficient

Ancient building, ancient town, but modern facilities. Emphasis on the best of British. Near to Stansted & London, but lovely rural town with a real tradition. Very good receptionist & manager. Excellent breakfast choices. En suite very good.

Curtain had come off hooks - slightly difficult to get to as wardrobe in front of it. Net curtain had a 3 inch hole in it. The Dark green Carpet had a foot long tear, near the door, which had black carpet tape over it. The shower vent was full of fluff, & needed top taken off & emptying. These were very small points in an otherwise beautiful room.

Friendly, helpful staff. Accommodation was basic but generally clean. Food during the evening was good and service pretty slick. I would stay again, the Inn is well located, not so far from Stansted but in a beautiful village setting and price was very reasonable.

TV did not work. Would probably avoid room 19 if I stayed again, this room is on ground level with car park right outside the only window for this room. Breakfast on Saturday morning was best described as chaotic, only one member of staff on duty who was very flustered and struggling to keep up with demands of guests waiting to be served. Parking was a bit of an issue, we had to hang around the carpark waiting for a space.

Rooms aren't great, lots of noise travels through floors and walls. Funny smell in rooms, like mothballs..? Poor parking. Food is very average.

Clean & comfortable room, pleasant staff & really excellent breakfast all at a very good price.

Very welcoming. Food was excellent, a lovely country pub and hotel. Will definately be staying there again.

Plumbing

The service was very good and the room was excellent value for money, although I wish they could do a runny poach egg which seems a skill that elludes many a hotel! The atmosphere in the bar was friendly and relaxed, and the beer on offer was absolutely excellent.

Basic B & B. Excellent value for money £24.00 inc breakfast. Suited my purposes just right.

Value for money

Fantastic staff who were very friendly, approachable and wanted to make our stay a good one. Our room was excellent - it even had a small dressing room which meant we could keep the main room tidy and free from clutter. We wanted an early breakfast and a buffet breakfast was delivered to our room the night before so we could get off on time without any problems. The food in the restaurant was superb and the atmosphere really good. We will definitely return - for a longer stay next time - and would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Well done to everyone! See you again soon.
